Organization & Team Overview:
The Financial Information Reporting Solutions (FIRS) which provides accurate, complete and consistent data for aggregation and analysis by Internal Reporting and External Reporting consumers. FIRS also serves as the Business Architect for Finance, partnering with Technology and various Program Management teams to drive the Finance vision of the Finance & Risk Roadmap to fruition.
The FIRS team will help to define and deliver target state operating model and technology requirements to strategically source data required for both internal and external reporting. The team will also assist in positioning the firm to better respond to changing regulatory environments and internal demand requests by deploying change centrally versus de-centrally.
Position Overview:
This position is within the FRI External Reporting Team and will be focused on centrally managing the transition from current state report preparation to the future state operating model using FRI. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support FIRS External Reporting Operation (FIRS ERO) schedule preparers during all stages of project lifecycle (requirements, design, UAT testing, performance testing, regression testing and implementation phases)
  • Serve as FRI single point of contact on behalf of FIRS ERO and manage communication with project working group
  • Lead agile work stream in an autonomous structure while meeting program goals and deliverables
  • Drive UT decommission roadmap as applicable for products in scope
  • Provide periodic status updates to stakeholders, senior management, and various business partners
  • Operating model support, procedures and system access/security management
  • Process improvements to the existing operating model
  • Escalating issues as needed to the appropriate team(s) and management
This position requires strong interpersonal and partnership skills. Also, the ability to partner with Firmwide Regulatory Reporting and Analysis, Firmwide External Reporting Controllers, Risk & Finance Technology, Project Teams and Line of Business Teams in order to execute on established deliverables is key. The candidate will be required to work with a sense of urgency and be able to balance and prioritize numerous activities. Previous experience in financial reporting, research utilizing large data sets and data visualization experience is a plus.
  • Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related discipline 
  • 5 to 7 plus years of financial services experience; internal JPMorgan experience preferred
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and project management skills
  • Exercises discipline in: analyzing, reporting, validating and explaining financial information
  • Strong analytical skills in interpretations of data and identification of anomalies
Soft Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill with the ability to present information at varying levels of detail depending on the audience
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure
  • Strong work ethic and keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to develop, clearly present, and draw conclusions
  • Aptitude and desire to learn quickly, be flexible, and think strategically
  • Ability to handle numerous deliverables concurrently to deliver high quality results in committed timeframes while being able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Client business focused; able to work collaboratively and build strong partnerships with clients and colleagues at all levels
Technical Skills:
  • Overall strong desktop skills including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Visio, SQL/ other database, Tableau skills would be an advantage
  • Strong data analysis skills
