The Shared Service within Equities & Fixed Income Financing Technology is looking to hire a highly motivated, hands-on core java developer to join the Reference data team to work on the Collateral Management platform globally. The successful candidate will be responsible across the technology lifecycle from user/technical requirements, design, development, implementation and support.


  • Designing our core trading application that meets both our business and architectural requirements
  • Gathering and refining requirements from stakeholders
  • Doesn’t write a single line of code without a unit test
  • Working with developers in other component teams to ensure consistent integration of services across teams
  • Provide supported documentation for the software build
  • Lean software development/Scrum/Kanban experience

Key Attributes 

  • Top notch core java developer capable to  work independently and part of a team to support/enhance Securities Lending Applications
  • Strong communication, analytical and technical writing skills
  • Very good coding, testing and debugging skills
  • Back-end relation databases (Oracle, Sybase)
  • A strong sense of good practice with respect to development techniques
  • Strong understanding of a software development lifecycle process
  • Ideally understands securities lending/repo/collateral management flows or demonstrates an eagerness to learn the business fully


  • Experience with Java 8 and Caching products (gemfire)
  • In depth knowledge of OO and SOLID design principles
  • Excellent understand of Spring/JDBC/JMS/Caching (Gemfire/Cassandra/etc)
  • In depth knowledge of Java Transaction Management
  • Experience of working on highly scalable & highly available systems
  • Database experience Oracle and Sybase
  • Testing frameworks (junit/mockito/jbehave/concordion)
  • Performance and monitoring tools
  • Continuous Integration & Delivery tools: Teamcity/Rundeck
  • Git/Python/Intellij
  • Messaging (JMS/MQ)
  • Agile build tools (maven, CI, TDD, etc)
