This role is with the Wholesale Client Onboarding (WCOB) Global KYC Operations Support team who are based in London, Bournemouth, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Brooklyn. The team has two main responsibilities: 1) Desktop Procedures - to ensure all KYC procedures and documentation are complete, correct and in place for reference by WCOB teams when onboarding New and Incremental business, and conducting Renewals & Remediation; and 2) KYC Advisory & Learning Support - providing guidance on KYC operational process and  KYC training. Both teams work closely with the WCOB Product Delivery, Re-engineering & Project Management group as well as the CAO & Technology Training team.   This role provides specific support to the WCOB teams across the globe with particular focus on Hong Kong, Singapore & Bangalore.



Core Responsibilities

  • Provide KYC advisory support/guidance to WCOB teams across all regions.
  • Respond to enquiries from WCOB teams, Compliance, and business on a timely basis.  
  • Work in partnership with Compliance, Policy Interpretation, Procedures, Quality Control, and Case Lead Teams to ensure proper interpretation and implementation of KYC policies and procedures.
  • Work with the Policy, Procedures, and Training Teams to ensure that policies and procedures are up to date.
  • Manage the FAQ Governance process together with the head of KYC Advisory.
  • Manage communication and provide regular updates on KYC policies and procedures via the weekly KYC Update bulletin.
  • Conduct regular briefing sessions on KYC Updates on policies, procedures, and operational changes with WCOB teams.
  • Keep abreast with changes on KYC policies, procedures, systems, and operational processes by attending trainings and operational readiness briefings.  
  • Partner with global counterparts to ensure a consistent global KYC program throughout the regions.
Skills / Experience Required
  • KYC knowledge is essential.
  • At least 2 years work experience in a KYC due diligence or client onboarding function.
  • Good understanding of CIB structure and business processes, including practical experience of the wholesale client business.
  • Sound knowledge of WCOB Policy, Requirements, Procedures and familiarity with KYC systems and tools.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving, owning issues and delivering solutions to a tight deadline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and presentation.
  • Partnership and relationship management:  must have the ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be a self-starter, pro-active, organized, with a keen eye on details and have the ability to work independently at a local, regional and global level.
  • Strong research skills, familiarity with Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly motivated, intuitive and possess initiative to identify potential process improvements.
