The Beta Strategies business, a global business unit within JPMAM, was formed in 2016 to build and market specialized index and quantitative investment strategies through a broad range of investment vehicles, including Exchange-Traded Funds (ETF).

Role Description:
As Strategic Initiatives & Business Development Manager, VP in Beta Strategies, you will be part of an entrepreneurial team tasked with supporting growth of the firm’s rapidly expanding Beta business.  This role will report into the Head of Beta Product & Business Development and will have responsibility for managing a diverse set of high-profile special projects.  This role is expected to assume hands-on leadership of strategic initiatives and work closely with senior business management to define strategic direction, problem solve and drive execution.  Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing multiple strategic projects simultaneously across a range of functions and organizational units
  • Coordinating analysis and negotiation of prospective external business partnerships
  • Working with business stakeholders to define and drive key aspects of strategy and execution
  • Identifying and mobilizing the right resources, content experts and decision makers to meet specific goals
  • Developing business cases, project plans, team structures, and governance models to drive results
  • Coaching junior talent to cultivate a highly productive team and enriching development environment
We seek candidates who can demonstrate a history of effectively managing complex projects and driving change, ideally in financial services.  Key qualifications include: 
  • Ability to manage multiple teams/projects and competing deadlines, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Significant experience managing and working with geographically distributed and functionally diverse work-groups
  • Comfort with ambiguity and dynamically shifting priorities, timelines, and demands
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking, with ability to develop business insights and hypotheses
  • Ability to synthesize findings and recommendations, and prepare and deliver well-designed presentations
  • Significant knowledge of valuation, capital markets, and corporate finance issues related to M&A, with extensive experience conducting both strategic and financial analyses
  • Ability to build consultative relationships with senior management, becoming a trusted partner for thinking strategically about the business
  • Exceptional interpersonal leadership and influencing skills, and ability to collaborate and achieve goals without direct control over resources
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; prior experience presenting to and working closely with senior management

 Work experience and education:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience (e.g., strategy consulting, banking, private equity/M&A, program management)
  • Demonstrated high level of performance evidenced through annual reviews, bonuses, and recommendations
  • MBA or similar advanced business degree from a top school preferred
  • Experience in asset management preferred; experience with passive asset management a plus
