We are seeking a Financial Associate, to report directly to the CFO of Branded Cards covering the Sapphire, Freedom, Slate and Ink family of cards. The FA is responsible for financial management, planning and results analysis, analytics and decision support for branded credit cards. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the credit card & payments industry including business strategy and profitability, investment decision making, competitive dynamics, product offerings, and to gain exposure to Chase’s overall consumer strategy.


  • Provide financial decision support to business unit General Managers and their teams through analyses that provide insights into portfolio, product, and customer behavior
  • Partner closely with Finance teams, including P&A, CCAR Forecasting, and Investment Valuation teams
  • Prepare senior management presentations to communicate financial performance and help drive strategy
  • Analyze financial results and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations on performance to finance and business leadership
  • Evaluate and enhance multi-year financial models for the business, assessing the impact of strategic decisions and trade-offs on the P&L
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure results and forecasts are aligned with financial targets and business strategy
  • Assess industry trends, and perform competitor analysis
  • Ensure Card Services delivers with a "customer first" mentality, with the highest quality standards, and with a strong sense of urgency
  • Train and mentor incoming analysts
  • Proven ability to perform complex data analysis and provide structured conclusions to all levels of management
  • Strong problem solving, business acumen, and intellectual curiosity
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize across multiple projects
  • Capacity to work cross-functionally to create efficiencies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal; ability to tailor messaging and communicate effectively  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to build and foster strong professional relationships
  • This role requires strong financial modeling and analytical skills as well as advanced level in Excel and Powerpoint. Hyperion Essbase, SQL & SAS code-writing proficiency preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience required; a Master’s degree is preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or consulting is a plus
