Operational Risk Governance (“ORG”) is a function within Independent Risk Management responsible for developing the firmwide Operational Risk Management Framework (“ORMF”) and overseeing its implementation across Lines of Business (“LOBs”) and functions. Within ORG, Corporate Operational Risk (“COR”) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the firmwide Operational Risk Governance Policy and associated standards. These standards direct and assist LOBs and Corporate Functions on how to manage and mitigate the operational risk inherent in their activities and improve understanding of the Firm's operational risk exposure.  Operational Risk Officers (“OROs”) independently challenge LOBs and Corporate Functions on their implementation of the ORMF and adherence to the Operational Risk Policy and associated standards.
ORG is seeking an Analyst to support the development and implementation of a firmwide operational risk data management and analytics framework for each of the OR lines of defense. 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Partner with different teams/functions to identify new or improve existing analytics to monitor 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defense in Operational Risk Management.
  • Design and manage the development of predictive dashboard reports.
  • Assess the availability of source data to support the reporting and work closely with technology teams to communicate requirements, test and implement strategic data storage and reporting.
  • Document and present project progress, analysis results, and proposals to management, partners, and other key stakeholders
  • Lead or participate in other operational risk initiatives across ORG, as a Business Analyst as appropriate
  • Oversee the management of 3rd party resources in the delivery of Operational Risk Analytics project

Required Qualifications:
  • 6-10 years of experience in large data projects or the Financial Services industry, specifically within Operational Risk, Finance, Business Management, Audit, Compliance or other controls related areas
  • Analytic and problem-solving skills; inquisitive nature and comfort challenging current practices
  • Ability to develop constructive relationships with functional partners
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written as well as very strong project management skills
  • Strong MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance or related field
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge or previous experience with Project Managing, configuring or coding business intelligence tools (e.g. Cognos, Qlikview, Tableau etc)
  • Operational risk management or control-related experience
  • Ability to anticipate and identify project risks and effective mitigants
