Organization & Team Overview:
The Financial Information Reporting Solutions (FIRS) team which provides accurate, complete and consistent data for aggregation and analysis by Internal Reporting and External Reporting consumers. FIRS serves as the Business Architect for Finance, partnering with Technology and various Program Management teams to drive the Finance vision of the Finance & Risk Roadmap.
The FIRS team will help to define and deliver target state operating model and technology requirements to strategically source data required for both internal and external reporting. The team will also assist in positioning the firm to better respond to changing regulatory environments and internal demand requests by deploying change centrally.
Position Overview:
This position is within the External Reporting Data Operations (ERDO) Team and will be focused on leading the data quality initiative partnering with the Chief Data Office, Projects and Regulatory reporting teams.  In addition the potential hire will be required to lead or participate on various initiatives within the global team related to controls, metrics and expanding our operating model.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead Data Quality Governance meetings with stakeholders.
  • Understand and be an expert in the system architecture and data flow into the regulatory platform.
  • Partner with Legal Entity Controllers, Middle Office, Reference Data and Regulatory Reporting teams to resolve data issues.
  • Support the execution of the overall operating model
  • Managing client relations, communications and presentations
  • Identify and execute process improvements to the existing operating model, tools and procedures
  • Interacting with other FIRS and RFT (Risk & Finance Technology) partners
  • Act as an interface with Control partners, ensuring compliance with risk and controls policies
  • Escalating issues as needed to the appropriate team(s) and management
  • Partnering with projects team through the full project life cycles impacting International Regulatory Reporting.
  • Represent FIRS in senior management forums when needed.  (E.g. Steer Co. PCC, etc.)

The candidate will be required to work with a sense of urgency and be able to balance and prioritize activities. They will need to partner with Risk and Finance Technology, Project Teams and Line of Business Teams in order to manage and execute on established deliverables.

  • Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, computing or related discipline.
  • Strong Derivative experience
  • Strong Project Management experience
  • Understand and be able to explain the Trade Life Cycle
  • Business Analysis experience

  • Ability to lead and influence. Strong team-orientation and leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill with the ability to present information at varying levels of detail depending on the audience
  • Strong process and project management skills with emphasis on governance

    Technical Skills:
  • Strong desktop skills including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SQL, MS Access, Qlikview, VBA and Axiom would be an advantage
