The JPMorgan Chase Legal Department is responsible for providing legal services to the Corporation and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Corporation’s lines of business and corporate staff areas.  This structure encourages legal teams and businesses and staff areas to discuss legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and in a timely manner.
 
The Assistant Corporate Secretary I is a key member of the Office of the Secretary (OTS) Annual Reports' Team and exercises judgment and discretion. Responsible for coordinating the statutory filings for hundreds of legal entities in multiple countries throughout EMEA, APAC and LATAM.  Additional responsibilities include participating and managing various projects in support of several OTS initiatives.   
 
Duties included but are not limited to:
 
  • Overseeing a book of work consisting of a large volume of global legal entity statutory filings
     
    • Maintaining all legal entities in the book of work in Good Standing by working with a team in India to ensure statutory filings are filed accurately and timely
    • Coordinating with OTS EMEA and APAC to update current filing population
       
  • Assist with developing global target-state operating model
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses as instructed by manager
  • Provide data to support the production of monthly management metrics reporting
  • Assist team with filing additional legal entity state Qualifications and Withdrawals as required
  • Provide Quality Control (QC) oversight of team Secretary of State filings
  • Sign various Secretary of State filings on behalf of the legal entity
  • Provide assistance as needed on OTS related projects

Job Requirements
  • 4 year degree or 3 years as part of an operations team working independently on a book of work
  • Experience filing various Secretary of State forms (e.g. annual reports, withdrawals, qualifications)
  • Intermediate/advanced computer skills (i.e. MS Office Suite)
  • Strong analytical, research, organizational and relationship building skills
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Ability to draft legal documents on behalf of attorney’s
  • Knowledge of Global Entity Management System (GEMS) (not required but a plus)
  • Project Management experience
