J.P. Morgan is seeking an individual to join its global Compliance Surveillance team with a focus on surveillance development and threshold analysis. Key functions of the role include: 
 
  • Work with global surveillance subject matter experts to determine thresholds for new surveillance alert types focused on detecting potential market misconduct and refine thresholds for existing surveillance alert types
  • Work with the team to develop a globally consistent approach, using quantitative and qualitative methods, to determine thresholds for transaction surveillance alert types across programs including Commodities, Equities, Fixed Income, Futures, FX, and Swaps
  • Document threshold values, including a clear threshold description and rationale for setting a threshold at the specific value
  • Work with large financial transaction data sets and provide multiple quantitative approaches and options in determining appropriate threshold values
  • Review thresholds set for existing surveillance alert types and assure that they are appropriately calibrated

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 
  • Proficiency in statistics, time series analysis, and statistical inference
  • Knowledgeable with SQL, VBA, and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with large financial transaction data sets
  • Strong written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
