JPMorgan Chase has undertaken an aggressive goal to become the undisputed marketplace leader for Business Banking in the United States.  To set us on this path we are investing heavily in digital and technology infrastructure to become the easiest bank for businesses to do business with and we are transforming how we service our customers in person, in our branches, on the phone and online.  We are seeking a product leader who will help us position the organization and our products to win in this segment (Business Banking serves the banking needs of businesses with up to $20 million in revenue). 
The right leader will bring a customer obsessed mindset to driving change, innovation, and development through the product organization.  They will have led teams through complex product development and delivery innovations and will have demonstrated success across the full product lifecycle from pre-concept, through development to launch and ongoing management.
 
This position will be a key leadership position in the organization reporting directly to the Marketing and Product Executive for Business Banking.
 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops a vision and scope for the future state of Business Banking’s product offering including a short and long-term roadmap for execution.
  • Directly shapes operation and functional execution of product strategies and how they are accomplished.
  • Partners across lines of business to ensure full integration with our Credit Cards, Merchant Processing, and Middle Market organizations to truly implement customer first changes.
  • Works with cross functional support organizations (Research, IT, Finance, Sales, etc.) to ensure products and services are aligned to customer needs and are able to be easily supported by the full organization.
  • Develops a test and learn plan that will enable us to fail fast and deliver incremental improvements in progress towards or broader goals and objectives.
  • Handles the most complex products and directs the activities of other employees, both directly and indirectly.
  • The Product Development Director will start as an individual contributor but will ultimately build a team that will help drive our goals and objectives forward.
 
  • 10+ years of experience in product strategy and development, preferably in financial services though external expertise is valued
  • Ability to develop and articulate well thought out business case and its financial impacts
  • Understands interdependencies between multiple variables and impact of decisions
  • Awareness of industry and competitors
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative and cross-functional environment
  • Excellent written and communication skills; able to effectively communicate with senior executives
  • Proven ability to deliver flawless products and great customer experiences
  • Strong leadership and prioritization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Strong grasp of new technologies, competitive landscapes, marketplace, and regulatory environment
  • Demonstrates superior judgment to mitigate risk and fosters an environment where risk/control issues are escalated and trends are anticipated and identified.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA desirable
