Our business
 
The Compliance Germany team is part of the Global Compliance and Regulatory Management department which is responsible for the provision of compliance services to the Firm. The German Compliance team ensures in particular the adherence of laws and regulations relevant for the German J.P. Morgan legal entities itself and their employees such as the German Securities Act (Wertpapierhandelsgesetz – WpHG) and the provisions on the prevention of money laundering, terrorist financing and other criminal activities (Kreditwesengesetz – KWG, Geldwäschegesetz – GwG).
 
Opportunity
 
The opportunity is to join the Compliance team supporting the head of Compliance in implementing and maintaining appropriate standards for Compliance, AML/CTF/Fraud and Data Privacy as required by the relevant regulatory bodies and legislation.
 
Key responsibilities
  • Support the Frankfurt Head of Compliance on the implementation of the potential changes in the operating model for JPMAG
  • Support the local Compliance team with regard to Compliance practices enhancements
  • Work with the regional and global Compliance teams in developing a new Risk Assessment platform for JPMAG (legal entity focus)
  • Act as the local coordinator for Compliance in the New Business Approval Process
  • Advise on and implementation of regulatory changes
  • Advise on all regulatory reporting related matters
  • Execution of the local Compliance Monitoring and Control program
  • Preparation of local and functional management reporting as requested
  • Supporting the development and update of internal principles, policies, procedures as well as appropriate business and customer-related safeguards.
Requirements
 
The role requires an enquiring mind, good analytic skills, good written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to write clearly and succinctly and to summarize complex matters precisely. The candidate needs to be able to work cross-functionally and confidently with colleagues and employees both in-country and abroad as wells as at all levels of the organization.
 
Essential skills
  • Strong background in Investment Banking Compliance or an equivalent role
  • Very good knowledge of German regulatory requirements
  • Profound knowledge of European stock exchange rules and regulations
  • Very good understanding of operating models
  • Excellent project management skills and very good writing skills (for policies and procedures)
  • Broad-based IT skills and application experience
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deliver against tight deadlines
  • Ability to cover flexible working hours
  • Fluency in German and English is essential.
