Audience Targeting is a highly specialized team dedicated to identifying existing and future Chase customers that match the strategy requirements of our business partners. The team currently supports Auto Finance, Home Lending, Merchant Services and Credit Card Lines of Business.
 
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will collaborate with our campaign stakeholders to understand the business strategy and develop SAS programming to generate lists and attributes for targeted communications. The BSA will frequently use SQL, SAS, Microsoft Office (primarily Excel) or equivalent reporting tools to assist the business in meeting operational objectives. The BSA will require strong technical writing and communication skills in order to finalize requirements into a technical specification document, creating a framework for how the program will be executed. Audience Targeting works in a highly regulated in environment requiring the BSA to adhere to policies and procedures that will ensure we maintain the highest standards of quality for our customers and audit readiness.   
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, debug, and execute SAS/SQL code to define populations for marketing/servicing campaigns
  • Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and document technical specifications
  • Research data elements for targeting using database metadata
  • Produce data validations on campaign populations to ensure marketing requirements are met
  • Identify correlations/trends in data, and communicate impacts that could affect results of the campaign
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with campaign stakeholders
  • Create process improvements and keep relevant departmental documentation evergreen
Qualifications: (Required)
 
Technical Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of SAS or demonstrated ability to quickly learn SAS
  • 1-2 years of experience with SQL and relational databases such as Oracle and Teradata
  • 1-2 years of experience with Unix or Linux
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and correspondence skills 
  • Results-oriented with proactive approach to eliminating problems
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
  • Ability to listen/observe/acknowledge/lead by example and provide recommendations
  • Ability to articulate the causes of issues and comfortable to escalate concerns when necessary

Managerial Skills

  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail; quality oriented
  • Proactively raises concerns when timelines are in jeopardy of not being met
  • Adaptability to changing information systems environment

Qualifications: (Preferred)

  • Experience with programming languages like VB, VBA, Java, Perl, Python, C++, and Unix shell scripting
  • Background in marketing operations, direct marketing or marketing data analysis

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university
  • Concentration in relevant technical fields is preferred (Computer Science, Statistics, etc.)

This position is anticipated to require the use of one or more High Security Access (HSA) systems. Users of these systems are subject to enhanced screening which includes both criminal and credit background checks, and/or other enhanced screening at the time of accepting the position and on an annual basis thereafter. The enhanced screening will need to be successfully completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.
