Role Description:

Based in New York, the Estates Business Manager role is focused on supporting our Estates, Trust Settlements and Specialty Practices groups within our US Trusts & Estates business.  This role will partner with senior leadership within Trusts & Estates to implement strategic changes, support business priorities, build-out new technologies, refining operating models and address risk and control-related activities.  Day-to-day business management activities will also focus on business reporting and presentations and helping the individuals and business units within to be successful by assisting with day-to-day issue resolution, acting as a point of escalation, and improving processes. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner to senior management, offering insight, challenge and a view of how to best partner with all practices within Trusts & Estates and across Wealth Management

  • Manage planning and execution of business unit-specific initiatives and priorities

  • Represent business units within Trusts & Estate-wide initiatives

  • Coordinate on behalf of business unit with audit, Oversight & Control, and compliance

  • Help manage the day-to-day activities performed within the business, including reporting, data analysis and presentation creation as needed

  • Drive technology enhancements by partnering with the business unit, technology and operations  to define technology needs and plan and oversee implementation   


  • Ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, management and practitioners within the business

  • Ability to develop long-term strategic plans as well as tactical near-term insights to drive agenda priorities

  • Confidence and skill to develop, advocate for and deliver solutions to business leaders across organizations through influencing and consensus building

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management in a persuasive manner

  • Strong problem-solving, time management, organization and project management skills

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and comfortable multi-tasking many initiatives and requests

  • Ability to effectively transform both quantitative and qualitative information into a compelling argument

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal accountability

  • Commercial mind-set to develop effective business strategy and influence daily decision making

  • Good judgment and discretion working with highly confidential information

  • At least 6 years financial services experience, preferably in trusts or estates or wealth management

  • Proven record of delivery of initiatives

  • Experience in effectively messaging priorities, initiatives and updates to senior management

  • Proficient to advanced experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
