The Wealth Advisor is part of our team of specialists who ensure that our most complex clients’ planning needs are identified and met through a comprehensive approach to their total wealth structure. Whilst JP Morgan does not provide tax or legal advice, the Wealth Advisor provides assistance to clients with their tax and estate planning needs to ensure they understand the legally compliant options open to them.
The successful candidate would serve as the primary resource for clients with complex needs around how to hold and structure their wealth for a full range of circumstances including  family wealth and estate transition and business liquidity events as well as recognising tax compliant sensitivities in the investment of their assets.
The candidate would also need to demonstrate a strong aptitude in managing tax risk in helping to identify where clients may be involved in tax evasion or abusive tax arrangements and work with the risk and compliance teams to ensure the issues are addressed correctly    
  • Partner with the Bankers, Investors and Capital Advisors to support and co-ordinate the sales efforts
  • Build and maintain client relationships with onshore and offshore private clients
  • Develop ideas to help win new business from entrepreneurs planning for liquidity events
  • Assist clients looking to immigrate to or emigrate from the UK
  • Assistance on generational planning for tax efficient wealth transfer by providing guidance on optimum financial, fiscal and trust and estate structures
  • Work in close partnership with clients’ tax and legal counsel, insurance companies and trust companies and assist clients in finding appropriate advisers where required
  • Assistance to offshore private clients with tax planning and product structuring requirements
  • Develop effective structures to accommodate complex needs of large families with wealth spread across asset classes and currencies
  • Recommend tailor-made solutions to meet client requirements across generations and jurisdictions
  • Develop relationships with lawyers, accountants and other professional advisers to encourage  business referrals 
  • A strong approach to managing tax risk is required. this is both in terms of managing discussions with clients to ensure that as far as the bank is aware our clients are tax compliant and not engaged in aggressive or abusive tax arrangements  
  • A certain amount of travelling and client visits will be required
  • Experience as a tax and estate planning adviser  with a leading law or accountants practice with relevant professional qualifications
  • Experience in advising ultra high net worth clients with breadth of corporate finance and investment product knowledge
  • Strong relationship orientation and a self starter with business development skills
  • Accomplished client management skills with requisite gravitas to quickly earn client trust and win confidence
  • Well honed negotiating and influencing skills
  • Inherent team orientation with ability to work across the firm and jurisdictions as appropriate
  • Previous experience working to clearly defined metrics
  • A robust approach to risk management
