General Manager – Segment One – Student Strategy

The Segment One team is looking for an experienced General Manager (GM) to lead the Student segment, which focuses on refining our approach to attracting millennial college students as customers.  The GM will report to the Head of Community & Business Development and take the lead on defining the overall strategy for this segment, and understand the needs of this segment to build a differentiated, innovative experience that appeals to next-gen customers.  The GM will be responsible for driving growth and acquisition of new college student customers, as well as marketing initiatives to deepen existing college student relationships.  The ideal candidate will understand the current millennial college student landscape to deliver an outstanding customer experience via omni channel capabilities.

 

Responsibilities:

-Develop and execute a business strategy that includes identification and assessment of target market, consumer needs and product solutions; along with plans to sustain and build the business


-Work closely with  a cross functional team including design and digital technology teams to define industry leading product positioning and branding and customer experiences for this demographic

-Track and analyze appropriate metrics compared to internal and external benchmarks


-Provide expertise on trade off opportunities including risk/controls

-Push the thinking on innovative features that cut across product, marketing and servicing

Qualifications:

10+ years of Consumer Marketing experience


Proven general management and leadership experience, possesses strength in areas of marketing strategy and operational control & execution


Strategic thinker with a passion for creativity and innovation


Proven ability promoting a strong control environment by adhering to risk/control expectations, procedures and processes


Collaborates well in a highly matrixed organization and ambiguous environment


Comfortable presenting recommendations to senior management and capable of influencing multiple stakeholders


Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
