The Data Network Architecture (“DNA”) team is a part of the Firmwide Data Management Office (FDM) led by Chief Data Officer Rob Casper. DNA is responsible for delivering functional and technical capabilities in support of FDM’s mission to improve the quality, integrity and reliability of the firm’s critical data. The organization’s objectives are to explain the path that critical data follows, improve data quality, reduce ambiguity and inconsistent terminology, enhance transparency, rationalize the number of replicated data assets and improve Firmwide sharing of information and best practices.
The DNA Lineage Operations team is responsible for developing and executing FDM’s strategic approach for data lineage, which describes the end-to-end flow of data from where it is created to where it is consumed. Lineage Operations has two primary functions: (1) leading projects to meet the lineage needs of sponsored critical business initiatives and (2) designing and implementing operating model(s) for ongoing sustainment and enhancement of lineage metadata.
