The Firmwide Chief Data Office (CDO) and the Firmwide Data Management (FDM) Leadership Team is responsible for the Firmwide Data Management framework, Data Integration Strategy, Data Network Architecture focused on data lineage, data quality management, Reference Data Operations as well as overall data governance, oversight and operational support for the Firmwide Data Glossary (aka DataBook).
 
The Intake & Prioritization Lead will be responsible for prioritization of the Critical Business Initiatives (CBI) and for coordinating efforts to get the Critical Data Elements (CDE) defined in DataBook. The individual will be responsible for execution of the Intake & Prioritization operating model which involves prioritization of intake business terms with the Data Integration team and for facilitating working groups with Data Domain teams aligned with Line of Business (LOB) Chief Data Office to get CDEs defined in DataBook. The individual will report to the Executive Director, Firmwide Data Governance team.
 
Responsibilities
  • Work with the Firmwide Data Governance team, Chief Data Offices (CDO), Critical Business Initiative project teams, and stakeholders to plan, coordinate, monitor and assist in the Implementation of the Firmwide CDO initiatives
  • Execute the Firmwide Data Governance Intake & Prioritization Operating model leveraging the Firmwide Data Governance Data Domain structure
  • Implement data governance processes related to metadata, data quality and metric management for all data domains and data elements
  • Monitor & manage the intake process to ensure that the data domains are able to prioritize the CDEs and commit to the intake target date
  • Coordinate with the DataBook Operations Content Management team to have intake business terms curated and to have data domains assigned to CDEs
  • Facilitate Domain Working Groups to review data domain assignments & get commitment on target dates to get the CDEs defined in DataBook
  • Actively manage the domain work queues and coordinate with data domain teams to prioritize terms to be defined;
  • Identify risk & bottlenecks that impact milestone dates and escalate in a  timely manner;
  • Monitor the open workflow reports to determine when to follow-up with LOB CDOs & Data Domain Executives (DDE) to get their approvals
  • Participate in Data Governance Forum meetings to share DataBook roadmap updates and to take feedback from the Data Domain community
  • Coordinate with DataBook Platform Support team to address any environment availability issues or defects that negatively impact usability and project deliverables
  • Participate in identification and creation of new controls to ensure data integrity, contribute to process automation and streamlining operating procedures

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8-10+ years of work experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in data management functions in Financial Services industry
  • Knowledge of specific LOB business processes, regulatory reporting, corporate finance or risk management is desirable
  • Strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills
  • Experience in Data Management practices and Data Governance including data dictionaries, metadata repositories, logical data models, data authority, data lineage, data quality & data issue management is highly desirable
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills – including ability to anticipate, access and determine solution
  • Strong relationship building skills, demonstrated consultative approach and influencing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, agile work environment
  • Solid work ethic and strong sense of ownership of end result. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the data management and data governance field
  • Strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams
