The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.
Position Summary
This is an F&BM Vice President role to support the CIB Securities Processing Technology.The primary function of the role is to provide strategic support to the Custody technology  team, a global organization of approx. 200+ headcount accounting for ~40mm of expenses into the CIB Investor Services line of business.
The role will involve regular interaction with senior management across Technology, Operations, Product  and F&BM.
Candidates will be expected to be best of breed individual contributors; possess strong inter-personal skills, as well as a proven track record of delivery in the financial business management and programme management field.  The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker and proactive in problem solving, forming ideas and delivering solutions that enable better self-service and automation of the management of the continuous delivery framework. The candidate should have business management experience within technology organisation with an understanding of Securities trade processing and other Investment Bank functions.
Core Responsibilities
Management and Portfolio Reporting
  • Alignment of the business strategy into Alignment of the business strategy into a coherent technology multi-year plan
  • Drive accountability across the organization for execution against the multi-year plan
  • Create common set of goals, metrics and key success measures for the group
  • Deliver executive-level monthly business reviews to all stakeholders
  • Support creation of dashboards and management reporting
Financial Management
  • Drive the annual planning process through engagement with stakeholders
  • Support the monthly financial review process
  • Support the annual planning & monthly financial review processes
  • Resource management/ project allocation & reforecasting
  • Optimize Run The Bank spend through management of productivity workstreams
  • Ensure Change the Bank spend is appropriately prioritized with supporting business case
  • Reviewing expenses and identifying potential reductions in the cost base to streamline business processes and improve profitability
Resource Management
  • Drive a workforce strategy (skills and location) that is consistent with the macro CIB Technology workforce strategy
Contract Management
  • Support contract management  & vendor on-off boarding process
  • Liaising with key resources/ stake holders to ensure contracts & invoices are managed effectively
  • Relevant industry experience, ideally coupled with strategic, business management and financial experience
  • Background in finance, technology, and operations
  • Experience in project and programme management  area
  • Demonstrate the ability to drive result in a fast pace of change  and challenging environments
  • Must have a collaborative and participative style. Professionalism, sensitivity, discretion and sound decision-making skills allied with the ability to interact at senior executive level are essential.
  • Must be a confident leader -- possessing a strength of personality and intellect to gain the respect of demanding technology leads and senior finance management team
  • Ability to work independently, taking a leadership role on specific efforts
  • Ability to multi-task, moving easily between strategy and execution
  • Ability to organize tasks and activities in an efficient/effective manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – must be able to synthesize data into concise messages for leadership
  • Excellent analytical & problem solving skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail, follow-up skills and results-orientation
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Product Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
