Global Security & Investigations (GS&I) provides protection, investigation, resiliency and crisis management services in support of JPMorgan Chase, its employees, customers, assets, and facilities throughout the world.  This responsibility includes the development of security and safety policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative compliance, Security Guard management, alarm response, branch and corporate building security, customer safety, physical crime investigations, workplace violence, fire and life safety, executive protection, due diligence, pre-employment screening, security operations globally, and fraud investigations. This mission is executed through the implementation of technology, best-in-class talent, and client collaboration.
The position of Global Head of Technical Security is a key figure within the management framework of the Global Security & Investigations (GS&I) organization. GS&I Technical Security is a dynamic team of security professionals supporting global security operations in both retail and corporate environments through out the enterprise. They are responsible for the overall design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of integrated security systems that protect the firm across the logical & physical threat continuum.
The Global Head of Technical Security lead will manage the Global Technical Security team in a matrix organization, delivering multi-million dollar technical security solutions as part of construction and design projects, across all lines of business, including third party sites. The lead will also have responsibility for the development and execution of all Technical Security functions including Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, Alarm Monitoring and Command Center platforms. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the alignment and incorporation of all Technical Security operations with firm-wide strategic priorities. Equal attention shall be given to achieving integrated organizational goals, while ensuring proactive stakeholder engagement and collaboration with all cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Organizational management including strategic planning, budgeting, project management, professional development and process improvements
  • Provide global guidance and set standards around future security technology and architectural design integration of security solutions
  • Lead the global Access management, visual detection and alarm monitoring programs
    • Ensure standardized, cost effective integrated solutions for security equipment, involving key budget and project management resources
  • Lead Global Technical Security Managers and teams across GS&I, to ensure the consistent, quality and timely delivery of deliverables to all stakeholders
  • Build relationships with business partners and executives in Global Real Estate (GRE) & Corporate Technology, to cultivate program support and deliver additional value through comprehensive data analytics, system integration and platform access
  • Manage the delivery of multiple concurrent technical security projects (average 100+ ongoing) globally in support of GRE and Global Technology, ranging from low value to multi-millions of dollars
  • Set and maintain the Technical Security standards globally and ensure seamless internal testing and control to ensure baseline standards are adhered to and maintained
  • Support senior management by identifying risks and ensuring the smooth continuance of business functions and integrations with all Technical Security platforms across the enterprise
  • Provide continual improvement around technical solutions in line with the market, to automate processes and dynamically enhance productivity
  • Prepare executive level reports to track and meet project targets and budgets, escalate issues and roadblocks, and recommend solutions to resolve challenges
  • Lead working groups to address Technical Security operations, strategies, risks, and product support as needed
  • Work closely with Global Technology, Core Infrastructure Services and Engineering to provide technical security solutions
  • Manage the firm’s technical security vendors
  • Act as a Thought Leader to drive problem solving and identify business solutions
  • Support the implementation of strong governance structures for all Technical Security platforms and operations
  • Manage high value vaults, data centers and specialist asset protection portfolios and a large scale Retail bank operation in the United States, including branch security, cash management centers and cash & private vaults
  • Lead and manage a large matrixed team in line with JPMorgan standards
  • Execute any other duties or projects as directed by the Co-Heads of Global Security & Investigations
  • 10 years combined financial services, security, intelligence, military, or law enforcement experience
  • 4 year degree required (advanced degree preferred)
  • 4 years of experience leading:
    • Security Engineering/Design, or
    • Network Engineering/Design, or
    • Electrical Engineering/Design, or
    • Enterprise-Level Security System Integration
  • Detailed knowledge of Low-Voltage/ Structured Cable Installations
  • Expert Project Management (Agile & Waterfall)
    • Leadership of large Global Project Management portfolio with good understanding of Construction & Design planning
  • Demonstrated experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Technical Security knowledge and experience including Access management systems, visual detection and alarm monitoring
  • Knowledge of security Architectural design standards - CPTED (Crime Prevention through Environmental Design’) or equivalent
  • Intelligent, articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the senior local management team
  • Ability to communicate technical security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
