The Global Privacy Compliance team has an exciting opportunity for the position of VP, Data Safeguard and TPO. The VP role is a critical component of JPMC’s Privacy governance framework. The role reports to the Executive Director, Advisory Privacy Compliance. This team advises on privacy compliance regarding firm-wide processes that facilitate controlled transfer of data cross-border, data use, data safeguard and Employee Privacy. Primary focus areas in Data Safeguard group include Privacy regulatory requirements that impact access, transfer, storage and use of data across different jurisdictions, data safeguard requirements including Cyber and other Technology functions and the coordination across different specialist regions and LOBs on the Vendor engagements.
The VP will assist cross-functional initiatives on assessing privacy risks, controls and compliance. This includes managing and maintaining the tools, developing processes, facilitating appropriate review and involvement of different regional/LOB Compliance teams with cross-functional teams, maintaining inventory of engagements, analysis and audit trail on reviews, and any relevant reporting. This role will advise the LOB and CF groups on the Data safeguard and the engagement of Vendors of JPMC who provide services using customer, client, employee and contingent workforce data.
Key Responsibilities of the Position:
§ Contribute to the privacy operational model for internal and external safeguard of data
§ Keep current on privacy laws and standards governing cross-border transfers, vendor engagements and data safeguards
§ Enhance privacy guidance when changes in laws, regulations, or company policy apply
§ Facilitate and manage review of IT Policies, Standards and other procedures for Privacy risks
§ Lead and support firmwide privacy projects and privacy impact assessments
§ Support the firmwide Control processes like IAS, TPO and Technology from Privacy angle for cross-border transfer of data
§ Advice on Privacy implications on cross-border transfer of data for Corporate functions like AML/KYC, Risk, Finance etc.
§ Prepare and communicate status, issues, and key decisions to project stakeholders and executives
§ Develop executive level communications including presentations to committees and forums
§ Lead meetings, prepare agendas and meeting minutes, and facilitate the completion of action items to drive the LOB/CF initiatives to solution with an eye to managing Privacy risks
§ Develop and maintain related inventories and reviews/analysis of engagements
