Sanctions Technology is responsible for sanctions screening systems (Fircosoft) and case management workflow application (Global Sanctions Manager) for the processing of transactions in EMEA, Asia and WHEM. Fircosoft is a Vendor application that is used to perform sanctions screening of entities and transactions that are generated by the different lines of business within JP Morgan.
The role will involve delivery of change and management of the configuration that operates within the Sanctions environment. Environment management has ownership of infrastructure build, validations, monitoring, test support, maintenance activities, deployments, release planning, etc. The role will be required to gain knowledge of the end to end sanctions filtering environments focusing on the interface to the front-end and the Lines of Business.
 
Responsibilities include ownership of the following:
  • Manage Linux application/database/web server build and patching activities
  • Develops and integrates tools, methodologies for automated packaging, deployment and configuration across environments
  • Develop monitoring solutions for health check of the application environments
  • Plan and coordinate release activities
  • Serve as the single point-of-contact for all release activities. Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure smooth releases for higher environments
  • Post-Deployment retrofits and support. Participate in triaging on build and deployment issues with various teams
  • Provide test support to various line of businesses and test teams
  • Regularly interact with LOB users and Technology partners located around the world
  • Technical Development Skills 
UNIX Shell Scripting, Perl Scripting, Oracle SQL
GIT, Autosys, SFTP, Websphere MQ, Monitoring tools
Agile methodology (Kanban and/or Scrum) – nice to have
  • Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
Understanding of Financial and Banking applications or related business experience is a major plus
Experience with a large financial institution is a major plus
  • Preferred Skills & Experience
Exposure to full life-cycle experience in large systems, preferably in the financial industry  
Prior experience developing/supporting applications on distributed platforms
Experience in environment and release management
Knowledge of incident and problem management processes and tools (Peregrine, ITSM)
Ability to support large infrastructure, application environments, testing efforts
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills are required
