Group Description
The AWM Management Support Group and Center CFO Team is responsible for partnering with each business (Finance & Business Management, Human Resources, Oversight & Control, Risk Management,   Strategy & Development, Fiduciary & Conflicts of Interest and others), providing meaningful insight/advice and managing all aspects of the respective financials (direct/indirect expenses and headcount management).   In addition to providing oversight and understanding of the financials to the Executive Management of the functions, we support the AWM CFO and Line of Business (LOB) CFOs to facilitate partnerships, understanding of functional strategic goals, and ensure financials are aligned with Line of Business priorities.  The group is also responsible for ownership of all AWM Center headcount and expenses, including allocation of expenses to other LOBs.
Position Description
The Finance Analyst will be responsible for providing support to the various functions listed above.  The successful candidate will:
  • Assist in supporting expense and headcount planning, reporting and variance analysis
  • Effectively analyze, investigate and report variances of actual results to budget, forecast and prior periods
  • Proactively monitor expense postings and research/resolve issues in advance of month-end
  • Calculate and process allocations to other LOBs via SAP, including billing key creation, product and price guide updates, and variance analysis
  • Build and maintain plan, outlook, and reporting models
  • Provide support to other team members in producing weekly and monthly expense and headcount financials
  • Analyze large amounts of data effectively and accurately
  • Create clear and concise presentation decks to be used to facilitate discussions with senior management
  • Establish and maintain business relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels of seniority
  • Partner with sub LOB finance groups to meet LOB deliverables
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and budgeting/forecasting
  • Identify opportunities and recommend improvements for reporting efficiencies
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Finance/Accounting
  • 2+ years of experience in a Finance role
  • Candidate must be driven and results oriented
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast paced and deadline oriented environment
  • Team player who can work well with colleagues of various levels and backgrounds
  • Exemplary attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into concise, insightful, actionable recommendations
  • Ability to work across multiple groups with varying views
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and initiative
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase and SAP highly desired
