Enterprise Systems provides technology support for applications across all lines of business (Auto/Education, Business Banking, Card Services, Centralized Transactions Operations, Commercial Banking, Consumer Bank, Consumer Internet Group, Credit Risk, Finance, Home Lending, Investment Bank, Treasury & Securities Services, Wealth Management).


The Enterprise Systems Data Distribution (ESDD) team provides integration services between the consumers of Enterprise Systems Service and the service providers within JPMorgan Chase. The organization is committed to developing cutting edge technology with high quality, innovative developers; within that vision shared technology team also supports a complex event processor shared service for analyzing system activity and producing actions resulting from that activity (e.g. customer notifications).


Parameters is a critical application providing a common enterprise capability for storing, retrieving, and updating cross-application shared reference data as well as business configurable data like Industry Codes, ISO reference domains, internal Product Codes, Interest rates, etc. Parameters is the CCB authorized distributor for this data, providing high performance services for consumers across the enterprise.


The ESDD team is currently looking to hire a self-motivated and passionate software engineer to perform the role of Software Engineering Manager, as well as serve as an Agile Technical Coach to help lead and grow the application development team supporting this application along with influencing the consumers in their usage and interaction with the Parameters application.


As a Software Engineering Manager, you will work with business and IT leadership to understand IT business strategy and their implication to application(s) under responsibility. The software engineering manager has two primary areas of focus when leading project work. The first is business focused, responsible for designing project requirements and product strategy.  The second is technology focused, responsible for creating the product and technical implementation.  You will also have a post-project implementation responsibility to monitor product quality and adjust as customers deem necessary. We are seeking a passionate, result-oriented technologist to drive better, faster, simpler solutions and technology direction. Someone that is highly motivated, hands-on and cross-functional with the capability of driving high quality solutions to difficult problems.  This position will lead more than one scrum teams of software engineers and is responsible for recruiting, performance management, employee development and coaching, training and staff readiness.



  • Responsible for the technical integrity of our team's delivery.
  • Provide analysis and estimation of future work impacting our team working collaboratively with Product owners.
  • Provide technical oversight to project delivery manager during implementation and enhancement cycles
  • Work closely with the risk control teams, project delivery manager and vendors during the risk assessment activities for the third party solutions.
  • Server as a primary liaison for ongoing technical tasks related to the solution e.g. breaks, defects, patches & upgrades.
  • Mentor team members to progress their technical and professional skills.
  • Concurrently lead multiple initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business and technology team members.
  • Triage technical issues and lead teams toward solving problems.
  • Plan team capacity to accommodate demands.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of technology experience.
  • 4+ years of technical product delivery and management. 
  • Experience with leading projects through all phases of a software development lifecycle.
  • Agile project management experience, including use of agile project management tools (i.e. Confluence, JIRA, Git, etc.).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience with executive level communication.
  • Ability to build strong internal (client) and external (vendor) relationships.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated and confident in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment.



  • Web – Expert-level implementation skills building Web Services (SOAP, REST).
  • Cloud deployment experience such as GAIA.
  • Databases – Experience with both Relational, in particular DB2 and No-SQL databases such as Cassandra.
  • General – Comfortable in more than one programming language and have a firm grasp of fundamental software engineering patterns and practices.
  • Familiarity with IT control processes around risk and compliance.
  • Familiarity with modern software engineering methodologies DevOps, TDD, CI/CD.


Desired skills/experience:

  • Experience with Web Services (SOAP, REST) using JMS, J2EE and/or Spring frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of Java application server platforms such as Apache Tomcat, Redhat Jboss and/or IBM WebSphere. 
  • Knowledge and experience with messaging systems such as WebSphere MQ and/or Kafka.
  • Knowledge and experience in design and implementation of cloud based  solutions
  • Static & Dynamic code scanning tools and technologies.
