Job Description
A Qualified Engineer will be responsible for day to day activities in a high volume production support setting providing technical support for a full suite of trading applications.   The candidate should possess an understanding of how applications interact with different technologies and infrastructure.  Candidates will require a strong understanding of incident, problem and change management following ITIL methodologies. Candidates must have strong communication skills both oral and written.  Communication to the business in times of crisis, as well as partnering with development to provide complex solutions including automation are critical to having success in the role.

As a member of the Production Management team supporting global applications, you will establish and maintain Global relationships with business users, perform escalations of critical production environment incidents, and proactively identify patterns for recurring incidents to determine root cause to improve service capabilities. 

Required Skills:
(1-2 years)   supporting Linux/Unix based applications
(1-2 years)   Incident Management the understanding the difference between working in a prod environment vs a test environment.
(1-2 years)   experience with database technologies  Basic SQL language knowledge. 
(1-2 years)   working with basic monitoring solutions.  (Geneos, Nagios)
Ability to triage incidents and reprioritize effort as required by the business.  
Communication vital to success in the role both oral and written.
Must be willing to work weekends. 
Preferred skills:
Knowledge of financial markets and trading protocols. 
Developer level scripting skills either automation or database technologies. 
 scripting automation solutions (Perl, Python, Batch, Shell)
ITIL Foundation Certification
