The Corporate Technology (CT) organization develops applications and provides technology support for corporate functions across JPMorgan Chase, including Global Finance, Corporate Treasury, Risk Management, Human Resources, Compliance, Legal, and all functions within the Corporate Administrative Office (CAO).
 
CT teams are aligned with corporate partners’ evolving technology needs and the firm’s ever expanding technology controls agenda.
 
Job Description:
 
The Document Management Operating Unit within Reference Data Technology in JPMorgan Chase has been formed at the start of 2013 with an exciting, aggressive and challenging remit to upgrade our key platform. The team has been tasked with defining and implementing a Document Management solution and associated services across creation, capture, storage, retention, search and retrieval of documents stored to support management of core reference data i.e. Party, Client, Legal Entity, Account and Entity relationship. Additionally also provide generic solutions for content management and management of structured and unstructured data including storage and management of images and Search technology architecture across multiple lines of business, allowing for timely, consolidated, consistent and accurate identification and consumption of documents and relevant content by authorized internal and external parties.
Responsibilities:
 
  • As a Software Engineer, you will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments.
  • You will utilize mature (3rd or 4th Generation) programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code and its documentation.
  • Participate in Agile based story writing sessions while working with business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications.
  • Document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/Enhance software application modules.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate effective and efficient delivery will be a key measure of success within the role.
  • 3 – 6 years experience in server-side Core Java (JSP/HTML)/SOAP/XML as well as Linux/Unix background.  Oracle/Sybase experience would be preferred. 
  • 3 – 6 years experience with ExtJS/Javascript and knowledge of AngularJS 2, GWT/Flex technologies.
  • Experience working with document management system such as Alfresco or Documentum is preferred.
  • Experience working with Enterprise wide and global technology project team is preferred.
  • Good time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Solid experience in Java programming and design techniques
 
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity and/or experience with the following technologies: Oracle, Source Control Systems, ODBC, Linux, Web Logic, Web Sphere, Apache and Tomcat
  • Nice to Have - working with search engine such as Mark Logic or other comparable technologies
  • Working Knowledge of Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins, Hudson –
  • Working Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures and Agile Methodology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
