The Client Service & Intelligence (CSI) group in CIB Technology is seeking a Java Software Engineering Lead to lead a small development team in the design and delivery of key projects that support the JPMorgan Treasury business.  You will be working on a team with experienced developers on critical projects that maintain our client's financial data.  A successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to understand system architecture and champion that architecture to management, developers and business stakeholders. 


Responsibilities include:

  • Serve has the Lead of 8+ team members.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the current team, as well as other groups.
  • Architecture solutioning.
  • Writing code to specifications, documenting system designs, and ensuring development team adheres to the architecture. 
  • Ensuring development team discipline is maintained, including code reviews, unit tests, and secure code design. 
  • Attend technology design meetings and recommend security and data improvements – and will be empowered to work on those prioritized changes. 
  • Identify and troubleshoot application code-related issues associated with security and performance – you’ll then get to design and build solutions to these issues.
  • 7+ years experience with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation.
  • 7+ years experience with Java, preferably with the Spring framework.
  • 7+ years experience with a J2EE/EJB Application Server (WebSphere preferred).
  • Lead Development experience.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements documentation.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum).
  • Experience with configuration and diagnosis of application servers.
  • Experience documenting and promoting system architecture.
  • Strong working knowledge of database concepts (DB2 preferred).
  • Experience working in both Unix and Mainframe environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a small development team.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.


Desired Skills:

  • Experience with JMS and Messaging Products (preferably WebSphere MQ and Active MQ).
  • Experience working with Web Services (preferably Spring or Apache Axis).
  • Exposure to Open Source technologies (maven, Spring).
  • Experience with working with large established code bases.
