J.P. Morgan’s Global Market Infrastructures (GMI) is a global function within the Chief Administration Office (CIB), responsible for managing the Firm’s network of critical third party providers to meet the Firm’s requirements for cash and securities services for its proprietary and client activities. These critical providers include Financial Market Infrastructures (Payment Systems, Central Counterparties, Securities Depositories and Cheque Clearing Systems) and Agent Banks (cash correspondent banks, partner banks and securities sub-custodians and clearing banks).
GMI leverage the standards of the Firm’s Third Party Oversight (TPO) program to select, maintain and exit Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs) and Agent Banks in scope, thereby meeting the Firm’s regulatory requirement to manage critical third parties as well as the Firm’s standards and client expectations. In doing so, GMI support and work closely with all the Lines of Business (LOBs) across the Firm.
Within GMI, the Market Infrastructure Oversight (MIO) team is responsible for management and oversight of the TPO process for Agent Banks and FMIs globally. MIO establish processes and standards, collate key artefacts and oversee the end to end TPO process. This includes defining the FMI Risk Model and Standard Assessment Protocols, issuance and tracking of questionnaires, and responsibility for the completion of the Final Assessment Report (FAR) for each FMI relationship. MIO work in close partnership with TPRM, Resiliency, Agent Performance Management, Credit Risk and Legal in order to effectively manage the overall process.
The successful candidate will join a team focused on internal business transformation of the TPO program for select functions (post trade Agents and FMIs). They will be responsible for end to end TPO Operations, including ongoing enhancement and transformation.
The role will work closely with all stakeholders including Product leads, Risk management, Legal and Compliance, Corporate TPO, Sales, Operations and Technology; looking to leverage best practice across the industry and other JPM business units.  
Key Responsibilities
  • Process Reengineering - Definition of future state business process to ensure consistency and gain maximum benefit from technology deliveries.
  • Leadership - Assume a key leadership role within the GMI team. Build & develop relationships, within and across functions
  • Validate Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements
  • Manage schedule across all functions; identify and address bottlenecks in the process
  • Identify opportunities and improve existing TPO processes and reporting including agent banks &FMIs scorecard process and MIS generation
  • Improve existing issue management tracking and reporting
  • Partner with the internal business partners to identify, measure, mitigate, monitor and report risk
  • Responsibility for motivating, coaching and developing the team including facilitating regular 1-1 meetings and managing performance

  • Experience and a strong working knowledge of various aspects of International Banking and Financing Operations
  • In depth understanding of measurement frameworks, SLA’s and KPI’s
  • Experience establishing and managing to project plans and key milestone dates
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem solving & process re-engineering skills; able to see issues at both a high-level and in detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Regulatory and Control experience would be beneficial.
  • Understanding of the FCA CASS UK client money rules?
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and with minimal guidance on day-to-day tasks
  • Highly motivated, energetic self-starter who takes ownership
  • Effective time management skills including goal setting, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and monitoring
  • Experience of people management with ability to motivate and inspire others
