The Cybersecurity organization’s objective is to ensure that JPMC is able to effectively detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats against our technology infrastructure.  The scope of Cybersecurity comprises detection and monitoring of threats and vulnerabilities, managing security incidents, and evolving our preventive infrastructure to keep ahead of the threat.  We accomplish this through strong information security leadership and active collaboration with line of business information risk managers to provide high quality security solutions and services that are focused on improving the Firm's risk posture.
The Role…
The Lead Endpoint Security Engineer will be accountable for leading a team responsible for design, develop, test and implement JPMorgan Chase & Co security solutions for our endpoint estate including, but not limited to, corporate end-user endpoints, servers, Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and retail branch equipment.   He or she will report to the Executive Director of Endpoint Security and be the lead technical resource for the endpoint ecosystem. 
Core Responsibilities…
  • Assists in planning product engineering activities
  • Ensures all engineering activities are in conformance with JPMC policies and objectives
  • Leads the work of Endpoint Security engineers
  • Directly contributes to the development of the Endpoint Security technology roadmap
  • Serves a the lead engineer in product design, development, and transition to operations
  • Attends technical engagement with audit, regulators, clients, and third parties when required
  • Leads failure analysis / root cause analysis when required
  • Provides technical supervision, oversight and problem resolution for engineering activities in the absence of the Executive Director
  • Provides quality control of engineering deliverables
  • Provides technical interface between development and operations teams
  • Supports program planning, engineering work breakdown structure, task estimation and scheduling
  • Supports management of relationships with technology vendors
  • Accountable for measured control improvement in domain
  • Contribute to the mentoring,  training and developing  of Jr engineers
Qualifications & Requirements…
  • 7+ years of progressive engineering and/or architecture experience with security platform administration or endpoint engineering experience within a large-scale or global enterprise.
  • Knowledge of Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR).
  • Hands on experience design, develop, test and implement Endpoint Security solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Hands on experience with database engineering, schema design and database access
  • Experience engineering, deploying, supporting and maintaining packaged code enterprise wise
  • Experience engineering security for the following platforms:  Windows physical and virtual desktops and laptops, UNIX / Linux Servers, Windows servers, Databases
  • Hands on experience with RSA (EMC), McAfee (Intel), FireEye, Symantec or any other endpoint security tools.
  • Thorough understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Command of Python, Perl, SQL, Regex and/or Shell scripting is desired
  • Solid knowledge in network concepts such as Firewalls, Load-balancers, and complex network designs
  • Understanding of web concepts such as HTTP, SSL/TLS, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Must have knowledge of enterprise systems and infrastructure along with a business process improvement mindset with a drive for controls, automation and efficiency
  • Ability to coordinate, work with and gain the trust of business stakeholders, technical resources, and third-party vendors.
  • Able to work under pressure in time critical situations.     
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.   Ability to communicate effectively with business representatives in explaining impacts and strategies and where necessary, in layman's terms.
