Institutional Wealth Management  (IWM) offers a specialty driven coverage model, client dialogue, investment offering, and set of solutions to foster deeper relationships with existing billionaires and helps regions win more billionaire and centi-millionaire accounts.  IWM consists of the Endowments & Foundations Group (EFG), Global Investment Opportunities (GIO), the Philanthropy Center (TPC), & the Private Bank Partnership Group (PBPG). 


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vice President in the Institutional Wealth Management (IWM) Product Development Team in Hong Kong.


Our Team: 

The IWM Product Development team partners closely with IWM senior management and Business Management in defining and implementing the business strategy, and owns the end-to-end management and execution of priority investment and new business initiatives.


The IWM Product Development team is responsible for development and delivery of new or enhanced products, capabilities (e.g. trading systems) and business process efficiencies for the IWM business. Team members will develop a detailed understanding of the IWM business, as well as local platforms and regulatory environments.


This is a highly visible role which will require the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels and to collaborate with global teams.  The role will require strong partnership across regions and functions including technology, legal, risk, compliance and controls management to implement IWM priorities.


Key responsibilities across the team include:

  • Drive expansion and development of investment and new business capabilities for IWM desks in the US, EMEA, and Asia, providing regular updates to senior management & escalating risks / issues as necessary

  • Develop and manage project plans though strategy development, project definition, solution development, agreement, and implementation regionally and /or globally for business and regulatory priorities

  • Analyse current investment offerings and operating models across IWM and partner with the Asset Class Leaders and IWM Management Team to define new business priorities

  • Provide input to technology project managers throughout the project delivery lifecycle to ensure business needs are met

  • Partner with legal, risk, compliance and controls management to effectively incorporate local regulatory requirements in adapting solutions to address core business objectives

  • For globally-driven priorities, work with control partners to clearly articulate proposals to address local regulatory nuances and obtain business sponsor buy-in where necessary

  • Facilitate partnership between regional senior and Product Development, business management & global IWM management team to prioritize core IWM initiatives

  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk to identify and address areas of risk and regulatory exposure across multiple asset classes

  • Define and prioritize the annual discretionary technology budget to support the relevant investment business and regulatory needs

  • Build detailed knowledge of current platforms, trading systems and front office and middle office process flows and identify opportunities for global harmonization and greater efficiencies


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in large-scale project planning and Product Development

  • Understanding of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management organization, and specifically the businesses within Wealth Management.

  • Working knowledge of investments across asset classes, including derivatives & structured products and alternative investments

  • Working knowledge of local regulations and legal framework

  • Advanced data analytics and excel skills
