About CAU:
The Credit Analysis Unit (CAU) in Mumbai is a part of the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) - Credit Risk function of JPMorgan. CAU works closely with the in-country Credit Bankers/Credit Executives and provides them with comprehensive credit risk analysis of clients - covering industry, business & financial profile; as well as recommendations on credit facilities & risk grades.  The team is structured along industry lines with primary divisions being Financial Institutions and Corporate.  The CAU was set up in Jan 2003 and is a 90+ member team today. It covers CIB clients primarily across Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia.
 
Role:
CAU Analyst (for FI clients in Asia)
 
Analyst Responsibilities: 
  • Prepare in-depth credit risk analysis reports on assigned FI clients (covering macros, sector, business, financial and credit issues). Come up with a rating recommendation on the clients and the facilities 
  • Understand various techniques and methods of credit analysis, accounting treatments, financial adjustments etc.
  • Build strong knowledge on allocated geographies and track sector developments and their credit implications on an on-going basis. Add value to the analysis with strong sector expertise and share industry insights with Credit Bankers
  • Build strong relationships and maintain open communication channels with Credit Bankers
  • Track the client and update bankers on key developments w.r.t their clients or industry and potential impact on credit rating

Qualifications: 
  • 0 – 3 years of experience (experience preferred)
  • MBA from a top tier school or professional qualification in Accountancy
  • Excellent academic record; strong finance and analytical skills
  • Strong grasp of corporate finance concepts and their application
  • Understanding of the financial statements, including ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, and basic accounting standards
  • Aptitude to learn and develop knowledge on credit analysis techniques, sectors and global economies
  • Strong communication skills — both oral and written; ability to effectively present analysis and interact with global credit bankers
  • Deadline orientation; close attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to work proactively & independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build positive relationships with Credit Bankers globally
