A suite of applications related to Risk & Margin calculation with the opportunity to contribute to development of a strategic platform for calculating and reporting upon a variety of risk measures including Stress Testing.  The suite provides a solution across a wide variety of market risks and across wide portfolio of different types of financial instruments. The solution will enhance timeliness of daily risk management and support complex ad hoc scenarios. In addition to meeting an increasing internal business appetite for stress, the suite is used in other areas such as capital calculations. 



Financial products that are supported by the platform include cash securities, interest rate, foreign exchange, equity derivatives, commodities, and credit derivatives (both exchange traded and over the counter).


In order to tackle this Big Data problem we leverage a large distributed calculation grid and expect to use advanced techniques for aggregating Big Data for our Clients and the Firm.


The Team:


The development team is based across Glasgow, London and New York. The Glasgow team works very closely with business colleagues in London and New York.




Key Responsibilities:


  • Work with Business and Technical Architects to on detailed requirements analysis, use cases, logical data models to support the strategic delivery of global intraday liquidity programme requirements.
  • Define detailed Use Cases in collaboration with business partners.
    Define Agile Stories to consumption by global agile development and test team.
  • Support remote teams of developers to deliver to these working functional capabilities.  This will include working with Vendor teams.
  • Interact with other teams within the bank to ensure project is successful.

Your Background:

  • Experience and knowledge of pricing across various asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income Instruments and Derivatives
  • Proven track record operating as a Business Analyst, leading software development in Banking / Financial Services Industry
  • Experience of Agile development methodology, such as Scrum or XP
    •  Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

    • A proactive approach to problem solving and decision making


Required Skills:

  • Experience of following tools beneficial:

o    JIRA

      Able to explain both verbally and written in stories complex concepts clearly to development and testing teams.

o    Provide support to development and testing teams by answering questions / reviewing test condition matrices
