The Team


We are looking for an Application Support Analyst to join our FICC Spread team who work alongside the Credit and SPG Business - and are thus based on the trading floor and operate in a dynamic and fast paced trading environment.


This team are responsible for the support of the Production Credit and SPG (Securitized Products Group) environments and businesses and operate as past of the wider Credit and SPG support teams.  The successful candidate will be part if a global team who are located in; New York, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Houston and Buenos Aires.


Key responsibilities

  • Support the in-house trading plant, providing first level support to the business and stakeholders
  • Act as first point of contact to diagnose and resolve issues raised by the business
  • Liaise with colleagues and other teams within the IB technology group to drive enhancements to technology requested by the business.
  • Analyse technical issues involving messaging or application failures
  • Work closely with our colleagues within Application Development on production releases, functionality requests and proactive supportability requirements. 









Key skills

  • Experience of Supporting LINUX based Platforms - (RHEL experience is preferred)
  • Experience in supporting Trading Environments within CREDIT
  • Detailed knowledge of trading systems - Understanding the front to back trade flows through a typical trading plant
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in using UNIX commands on a daily basis
  • Previous experience in a banking environment is very desirable, as is knowledge of financial products and markets
  • Prior experience in a trading facing role will be advantageous
  • Ability to use your technical skills to investigate system flows and complex system issues affecting the trading plant.



Additional information

  • A flexible approach to working hours is required in order to cover the trading day.  There is a rota system in place to provide on-site support normally between 07:00 and 18:30.
  • Weekend work is also required to cover releases or Disaster Recovery testing etc.
  • Out of hours support is not a part of this role although there may be occasions when team members are involved in unplanned out of hours activities e.g. datacentre issues
  • This role is not a PC or desktop support role.
