Currently, JPMPI provides investment advice and/or administrative functions for private investment funds and provides discretionary investment management services in various wrap fee programs offered through J.P. Morgan affiliates. Assets associated with JPMPI total approximately $110 billion.
Job Description
The Board Relations Associate role is a position within Funds Treasury.  The candidate will report to the Lead (the “Lead”) of the JPMPI US Mutual Fund Program.  The Board Relations Associate will have responsibility for overall management of Board material preparation and meeting coordination. The Associate works closely across the organization and third-party providers to coordinate support of the preparation of Board materials and is responsible for their compilation and dissemination.  The Associate will also assist in Board meeting scheduling and coordination.
Specific areas of responsibility include:
Primary Responsibilities
  • Support Lead with a focus on corporate governance and Board related matters and materials in connection with 40 Act registered mutual funds and various corporate entities
  • Assist Fund Administrator and Lead in preparing Board meeting materials for proprietary 1940 Act mutual funds Board meetings, including drafting agendas; requesting, reviewing and compiling meeting materials; and distribution of meeting materials
  • Participate in the mutual fund contract renewal process, including coordination with sub-advisers, board members and third-party service providers
  • Responsible with Fund Administrator for maintaining minute books and files/records of Board meetings
  • Prepare and assist in finalizing secretary's and officer's incumbency certificates
  • Liaise with and respond to requests from the Board of Directors and their assistants
  • Working with attorneys, provide corporate governance, Board and fund related information to internal and external parties 
  • 3-5+ years of experience, focused on mutual funds, investment management or similar roles.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a cross functional team.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and the ability to influence and achieve results.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner in any format.
  • Proactive attitude, commitment to continuous learning, willing to challenge the status quo to improve processes.
  • Flexibility, strong organizational and time management skills.
