Managed Solutions & Strategy (MSS) manages discretionary investment strategies and performs manager due diligence for clients across J.P. Morgan Wealth Management (WM).  Discretionary investment offerings include multi-asset, single asset class and alternative strategies offered through individual accounts and private and registered funds.  MSS uses multiple strategies and channels for implementation of its discretionary investment strategies, including mutual funds, private funds, exchange traded funds and notes, structured products and other types of instruments.  Due diligence is performed on traditional and alternative asset class managers, including mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity and real estate. 
 
The MSS Business Management Team supports senior management in the MSS organization to manage and execute initiatives.  This highly visible role will involve working in close partnership with MSS business leadership and internal control partners across multiple entities and jurisdictions across the globe. 
 
Role Description:
 
The role in the MSS Business Management Team will be tasked with supporting the execution of the firm’s 2017-2018 Office of Legal Obligations (OLO) Program.  OLO is a firm-wide, global initiative that brings together the expertise of Legal, Lines of Business, Oversight & Control, Compliance, Risk and other key control functions, to proactively manage regulatory changes into our operations and allow us to trace end-to-end connections between laws, rules and regulations and policies, procedures and/or other documentation.
 
Key activities will include:
  • Critically analyzing procedures against obligations and driving engagement with the business to understand impact
  • Identifying gaps between applicable Policy requirements and current procedures/controls and driving resolution of mitigating controls
  • Coordinating across MSS as needed, on shared key obligation themes
  • Developing subject matter expertise on specific areas within the MSS Business and representing the Business in a variety of forums and settings
  • Demonstrating the ability to apply a critical eye in evaluating existing processes and frameworks; ability to challenge the status quo and recommend solutions / enhancements to operating models and controls
  • Building strong partnerships with control partners, within the WM Business Management organization, and across MSS Business teams
  • Providing tactical team support , e.g., procedure updates, presentations and reporting for senior management
  • Project managing and delivering key work streams globally
 Experience and knowledge:
  • Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations applicable to wealth or investment management businesses
  • Experience reviewing or advising on policies and procedures  
  • Asset management expertise/experience and knowledge of multi-asset markets, products and processes in a project or business management role
  • Experience in the wealth management/asset management industry
 
Qualifications
  • At least 1-4 years of experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe PDF
  • Superior multi-tasking and organizational skills 
  • Excellent communication skills and poise giving presentations, especially to senior management
  • Strong initiative, energy and confidence completing projects with limited supervision
  • Good judgment and discretion working with highly confidential information
  • Excellent analytical and logical thinking to understand and analyze complex business processes
  • Ability to manage complexity, juggle multiple projects and deliver solutions to a tight deadline
  • Demonstrated ability in dealing with different stakeholder groups and driving the agenda
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex solutions
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, detail oriented and strong interpersonal skills
  • Be a team player who shows commitment and dedication, and can maintain a positive attitude and high level of performance on high profile/time-sensitive initiatives
