Sr. Product Manager - Business Banking Checking Products

The individual in this position reports to the Business Banking Product Director and manages Business Banking checking products.
  • Manages the overall experience and profitability of the current Total Business Checking product line and the grandfathered Select and Classic product lines
  • Generates and implements strategies and tactics designed to simplify the product line and growing the related checking account volumes and balances.
  • Product owner of fee-based income generated through the DDA platform
  • Develop and maintain Product and Innovation Roadmaps for new product development and product improvements
  • Responsible for all aspects of product development and portfolio management for assigned product lines.
 
The individual must develop and maintain strong partnerships and programs with the following key partners and teams:
  • Consumer Banking Product Group
  • Business Banking Finance and Deposit Pricing & Analysis Group
  • Business Controls, Audit and AML groups
  • Regional Sales teams and Sales Support group
  • Marketing, Legal, Strategy, IT and other functions
 
This person regularly consults with all levels of management, including executive management, and partners with professionals in other Retail/Business Banking functional areas of the Bank to drive initiatives relating to the checking portfolio.
 
Job Duties
  • Build and maintain checking product roadmaps enabling Chase for Business to be the easiest bank to do business with in the checking space including simplifying the product lines or pricing/fee structure to make it easy for customers and bankers to understand and communicate;
  • Understanding customer and segment needs and opportunities
  • Leading product strategy for assigned product lines and executing product modifications and new product development (and related pricing); discovery and development of advanced or innovative features and functionality
  • Providing subject matter expertise on the business checking products, features, functionality and pricing
  • Understanding key competitors' related product, package, and promotional offerings and monitoring changes and new developments in those offerings
  • Interacting with program offices and systems teams to ensure successful delivery of requested enhancements
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to think strategically, create compelling business cases, build consensus with executive team, and work across functions to implement projects.  The candidate must have the ability to quickly gain an understanding of Business Banking and its priorities while working in a matrixed environment. 
 
The candidate must have knowledge of the financial services industry and operations, sales, products, and current regulations; advanced data experience in a large data warehouse; have strong project management and communication skills; have a successful background where the candidate has led presentations to executives as well as peers and stakeholders. 
 
Bachelor’s degree required.  Master's degree: MBA, MS Economics, or similar degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of general banking experience, and at least 5 of those years in Product Management preferred.
