Job Description:
 
Mobile Payments Technology (MPT) is the firm's emerging product development team for integrating payment capabilities into mobile platforms / wallets.  MPT supports services directly related to mobile devices, third party wallet providers, and across JPMorgan Chase back-end systems.  In addition, MPT will support some direct mobile application development.  MPT is responsible for all mobile payment technology across JPMorgan Chase, including credit and pre-paid card capabilities. 
MPT is currently is in the process of creating new functionality which will significantly change how people make payments today.  MPT is looking for innovative and agile technology staff with a focus on quality.  As an Application Developer with the MPT team you will be instrumental in and responsible for providing high quality technology recommendations and solutions that address business needs by creating new product capabilities within Chase.  This will include contributing to the services model and design, including performing design and build of complex services and interfaces.  The ideal candidate will be proficient in Java and have a strong understanding of database technologies.  Understanding of mobile application architecture is a plus. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Design mobile payments platform for multiple mobile payments applications.
  • Actively participate in mobile payments application design, development, and maintenance for mobile platforms
  • Set and enforce best practices.
  • Proactively build team skills and positions to meet expected business goals.
  • Proactively research and develop new technologies, services, solutions, etc.
  • Manage third-party relationships related to mobile payments
  • Provide the team and other Blocks & LOBs with models of key interfaces, components, data flows, etc.
  • Proactively identify gaps in all processes, procedures, monitors, alerts, designs, etc. and provide recommendations on how to resolve these.
  • Perform regular/periodic peer/code reviews.
  • Work closely with test engineers on specifications and testing paradigms.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements documentation.
  • 10+ years experience with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation.
  • 6+ years experience with Java.
  • 6+ years experience with a J2EE Application Server (preferably Tomcat).
  • 3+ years experience working in both UNIX and Windows environments.
  • Good Application Design skills.
  • Experience with development, deployment, and support of large-scale distributed applications in a mission-critical production environment.
  • Test-infected attitude (strong desire to perform thorough and exhaustive unit, integration and system testing)
Preferred Skills:
  • 3+ years experience with JMS and Messaging Products (ESB knowledge will help).
  • 5+ years experience working with Web Services (preferably using cxf or spring webservices, JSON).
  • Exposure to Open Source technologies (Spring, spring webflow, maven, junit, IBatis/hibernate, Jenkins CI).
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle RDBMS.
  • Agile/Scrum experience in a large scale organization.
  • Continuous integration/deployment & Test automation skills.
  • Experience in developing applications for Cloud and micro services is a plus.
  • Experience with security instrumentation during services design is a plus.
  • Experience with Enterprise Integration Patterns (like spring integration, Camel, Mule) is a plus.
