As a VP of Software Engineering, you will design, create and support objects in technologies such as: Java/J2EE, AngularJS, Pega BPM, Oracle PL/SQL & SQL and .Net.  You’ll be interfacing with the user community to collect and document requirements for various projects following Waterfall & Agile Scrum methodologies. As a technology leader, you are expected to:
  • Provide technical design, development and support for the Risk systems
  • Perform all aspects of development life cycle including design, development, unit testing, documentation and application support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues as they arise.
  • Work with and assist QA, UAT with test cases and testing.
  • Responsible for enhancing Commerce Solutions Risk suite of products.
  • Some on-call/after-hours support as needed to resolve any critical incidents.
  • Create, troubleshoot and perform tuning on complex SQL, and PL/SQL queries
  • Enhance application code to improve the application performance in general
  • Partners and influence application developers and peers.
  • Design and develop solutions that are highly reliable, scalable, and perform to meet business-defined service levels.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to the less experienced team members.
  • Partner with business strategy group to understand business scenarios and be able to recommend technology options/solution to address the business need along with safeguarding Technology risk & controls.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 9+ years of experience as a software developer
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience functioning as a lead.
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience with Java, J2EE
  • Minimum 5+ years Oracle, PL/SQL including triggers, stored procedures, queries, etc. (Oracle 11g)
  • Excellent communication skills – the ability to communicate at a level commensurate with the audience at hand, be they expert or non-expert
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in the financial industry with exposure to the risk functions
  • Expertise in Pega BPM
  • Experience in designing/implementing secure solutions
  • Experience in working in an agile development process
  • Experience developing/consuming web services using REST, JSON etc
  • Experience in Angular JS
