The Corporate Operational Risk (COR) team is an independent risk group within Corporate Risk Management, reporting up to the Firm’s CRO, and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Firm's operational risk framework. The Operational Risk Management Framework presents a continuous, integrated method to identify, improve and monitor risk through risk governance, assessment, measurement and reporting & monitoring. JPM’s Operational Risk Framework focuses on the management of the Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), Scenario Analysis, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) as well as the measurement of Operational Risk Capital (ORC) and Stress Testing (CCAR/DFAST).
 
Operational Risk Measurement function within COR covers the mandate of Operational risk capital calculation, Operational Risk Stress testing (CCAR/DFAST), and Scenario Analysis. The Governance and Project Management team within this function provides the necessary project management support for all BAU, related technology and adhoc projects as well as provides the necessary governance over the team’s control agenda by improving, standardizing and driving process improvements.
 
The Governance and Project Management team is seeking an Analyst/Associate to help support the team’s mandate and agenda. COR is looking to hire an Associate within the Governance & Projects team to participate in various projects within COR supporting Firmwide and Operational Risk initiatives. The candidate will be motivated and self-starter. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, team player, results driven and self-managing with strong attention to detail.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute the team agenda and support objectives of Capital & Analytics, Stress testing and Scenario Analysis teams.
  • Coordinate and track key deliverables across different teams and support weekly Program updates
  • Lead/ participate in the development of internal/Adhoc projects, control related projects and regulatory deliverables
  • Develop business requirements and recommend how technology can be applied to solve business / process issues, working closely with relevant technology teams
  • Develop key relationships with stakeholders and partners to help drive the team’s agenda
  • Provide support and become engaged in other business management activities
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related discipline
  • Experience in financial services industry with focus in Operational Risk, Audit, Legal or Compliance or other controls related area is a must
  • Problem solving skills - Superior ability to structure and scope complex problems; apply a range of analytical tools; develop and synthesize insights; and recommend solutions
  • Client management skills – Advanced ability to partner closely with senior and line managers and other project stakeholders
  • Proficient in the execution and delivery of a project/task as well as its planning and coordination. Project management experience is a plus. 
  • Experience in technology projects would be a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications is required
  • A high-level of attention to detail and quality assurance.
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and commitment to deliver under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and build relationships with individuals at all levels including senior management.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Power Point and Excel
  • Experience with other software packages is a plus (e.g., Visio, Adobe Acrobat, MS Access, and MS Project).
