Senior Financial Officer - Poland
JP Morgan is seeking a dynamic individual to create and lead a new Finance Department and to participate with the local management team in the creation of a new JPMorgan Global Service Centre in Warsaw, Poland which will have several thousand staff.
The Senior Financial Officer (SFO) will be responsible for all financial aspects supporting a local Polish Subsidiary in Warsaw and collaborating with the CEO and the rest of the management team to create a first class leadership team and delivery against our business and financial goals.
Leveraging existing JPMorgan methods and technology with a local overlay for Polish reporting, the individual will be responsible for hiring and managing a local finance department.  The SFO will have two reporting lines: locally to the CEO of the Service Centre and directly the Regional Financial Controller who is based outside of Poland.
Key Responsibilities
  • All BAU finance activities including local and US reporting.
  • All local taxation reporting activities including corporation taxes, VAT and transfer pricing analysis.
  • Management of external auditors and preparation of financial statements.
  • Management of interaction with Government departments, particularly the Tax Office and Central Bank
  • Oversight of appropriate financial controls and billing.
  • Supporting the local CEO with reporting, forecasting and financial aspects of projects.
  • Supporting the CEO, Management Team and the Board of Directors in the management of the Global Service Centre.
  • Working with colleagues in different locations (such as New York, London and Mumbai) to maximise efficiency and minimise inaccuracies and risk.
  • Management of the finance team.
Qualifications and Skills
The successful candidate will have:
  • A recognised Polish Accounting Qualification at degree level and preferably recognised as a qualified auditor in Poland.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in both Polish and English.
  • A track record of managing financial accounting staff with well-developed people management and development skills.
  • Previous participation at the management level within a reasonably sized company, preferably in an international firm.
  • Proven experience of dealing with VAT, Corporation and payroll tax filings as well as preparation of financial statements and management of external audit and interaction with Polish tax authorities.
  • Detailed knowledge of Polish GAAP and IFRS
