As an Application Developer, you will be part of a team that is using an agile methodology to build a global platform based on the latest Open Source technologies.
 
This role is part of a truly global team working on a large multi-year program of development. The Collateral Central/Global Collateral Engine (GCE) Program seeks to deliver a strategic operating model to serve our clients needs for financing, lending and liquidity risk management solutions, and to capitalize on 20-30% business growth across all regions. GCE will implement an open architecture with links to key settlement, cash, pricing and reference applications, to provide true integration across all Collateral Products. The technology environment integrates more than 20 open source tools - including Spring, Spring boot,  Microservices, Maven and Jenkins  - into a productivity engine that spans from individual class writing and unit testing to production deployment and monitoring.
Qualifications:
Essential
  • College degree (Computer Science preferred).
  • Minimum 6 years of hands on experience Java and J2EE 
  • Deep knowledge of Java programming language (Java 8 preferred)
  • Object Oriented software design
  • Solid design, coding, testing and debugging skills in distributed J2EE technologies
  • Solid experience in Spring, Spring Boot,  Microservices and Maven
  • Competent SQL developer
  • Good understanding of Java profile tools, Unit test frameworks like Junit and ability to write solid System Integration Test cases
Advantageous
  • Experience of Agile development methodology
  • Experience in Cloud application development
  • Experience in DevOps process
  • Experience of Test Driven Development
  • Exposure to Terracotta, Drools, Selenium, Jbehave/Cucumber and JavaScript framework
  • Experience in Linux and shell scripting
  • Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures
  • Experience in Git
  • Experience with the Financial Services industry experience is helpful, particularly in Securities Clearance or Collateral Management
Soft Skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Comfortable with agile development practices such as pair programming
  • Skilled at giving and receiving feedback
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and decision making
  • Highly self-motivated
