The Corporate Technology (CT) organization develops applications and provides technology support for corporate functions across JPMorgan Chase, including Global Finance, Corporate Treasury, Risk Management, Human Resources, Compliance, Legal, and all functions within the Corporate Administrative Office (CAO).
Corporate Technology teams are aligned with corporate partners’ evolving technology needs and the firm’s ever expanding technology controls agenda.
This role is for an experienced IT professional to join the Corporate Technology Operate function, focusing on governance, risk and control activities. The Corporate Technology Infrastructure Project Analyst will be responsible for creating and updating reporting, updating project processes and managing small projects.
Reporting: Help create, maintain and improve reporting for project delivery, financials and server inventory management. Monitor specific project/program details, analyze pertinent data, create reports, track management of issues and perform other PMO duties assigned. Assist Infrastructure Managers in analysis, creation, and development of metric reports and portfolio level reporting for Sr. Mgmt.
Process: The Project Analyst will work with Global Technology Infrastructure and Corporate Technology organizations to build, deploy and maintain processes for multiple production and project areas. Conduct research and analysis related to the management of assigned projects within the Corporate Technology Infrastructure Projects. Ensure consistent use of tools, processes and Enterprise PMO best practices.
Small Projects: The Project Analyst will manage multiple small projects such as SAN/NAS add and removals and server decommissions.
Key components of the role:
  • Analyzes business and data requirements supporting application and infrastructure functionality and performance.
  • Builds understanding of business needs, how the systems are built, focusing on how the data is managed and used.
  • Prioritizes, scopes, estimates and manages the team(s) responsible for the development and implementation of engineering solutions
  • Solutions Oriented Thinking: frequently anticipates problems and analyzes ways to mitigate the risk
  • Articulates the business value and impact of advanced technical and non-technical information and understands when to escalate issues
  • Provides effective insight of production support operations including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation and customer/vendor dialogue
  • Ensures information controls are in place across all environments
  • Documents small-to medium-scale projects and delivers presentations with minimal supervision
  • Dissects complex situations and refocuses on critical technology tasks
  • Must have a high degree of technical expertise/professional mastery to recommend process improvements
  • Is often consulted by peers and seen as the informal leader on tactical problems
  • Develops small intra-team programs and must be proficient with project management software
  • Works with the business and with other analysts to describe existing business processes
  • Analyses business requirements
  • Analyses requirements in a way that is unambiguous and clear
  • Works with development teams to come up with designs that meet these requirements
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced business analysts
  • Basic resource management skills (e.g., planning, capacity)
  • Understands infrastructure health monitoring via monitoring and management systems
  • Works with problem management team to create knowledge articles
  • Follows company standards and procedures including security and change control
  • Responsible for analyzing information system incidents, to include coordination, root cause analysis and other problem solving activities
  • 5+ years IT Project Management experience
  • Strong Quality Assurance and Process Improvement experience
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Business Objects skills
  • Ability to compile data from multiple sources into single, coherent reports/charts
  • Ability to extract reports from online sources and work within online data bases
  • Data Quality skills
  • Ability to review data from multiple sources, identify inconsistencies & resolve conflicts
  • Data Analysis Skills
  • Proficient in knowledge of business applications, data usage and word processing, data management tools and flow charting tools
  • Able to understand the logic of code and to construct simple data queries
  • Advanced business and data analysis, business process and application knowledge
  • Knowledge of change management and business continuity
  • Ability to review data from multiple sources, understand its meaning, determine trends and areas of concern
  • Solid understanding and experience with Project Management delivery methods and tools
  • Detailed knowledge of the Project Life Cycle is required
  • Strong experience with Clarity, WRM, ITSM, Prime, ITPAM
  • Experience and knowledge of Technology Infrastructure systems and solutions including SAN, NAS, Backup, Windows, Unix, Linux, AIX, and Virtualization
  • Ability to persuade and influence is key
  • Must have ability to be tactful yet assertive
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 5+ years experience interaction with mid level management
  • Ability to positively influence people at a variety of levels; both internally and externally
  • Proficient in knowledge of business applications, data usage and word processing, data management tools and flow charting tools
