The Athena Business Strategy (ABS) team works across FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities) to define the optimal Athena ecosystem for trade and risk management, partnering with LOBs, Athena Core and QR to ensure consistency, consolidation and general inter-operability across LOB/asset-aligned Athena installs.

The role requires an Executive Director-level hands-on software developer having an extensive record of delivering high quality financial engineering solutions with the emphasis on framework development.  Experience in extensive interactions with the front office business and technology stakeholders is a must.  Experience with Python and risk and trade management frameworks is preferable.  As a technical lead within the FICC Athena Business Strategies team, the successful candidate will work with senior engineers and business stakeholders across the globe to lead design, implementation and delivery of consistent cross-asset and cross line of business risk and trade management solutions for FICC businesses.

This position is anticipated to require the use of one or more High Security Access (HSA) systems. Users of these systems are subject to enhanced screening which includes both criminal and credit background checks, and/or other enhanced screening at the time of accepting the position and on an annual basis thereafter. The enhanced screening will need to be successfully completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.

•    Strong academic background in computer science, math or engineering
•    Extensive professional expertise in financial engineering; preferably experienced in Python and front office risk management software
•    Proactive, independent and a self-starter with strong communication skills and a desire to solve real world business problems
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate accurately, concisely and effectively in a global technology organization and with trading and sales personnel
•    Prefer top-tier computer science/math/engineering universities
•    Analytical/problem-solving skills is a must
•    Ability to work under pressure within agreed timelines and to support multiple tasks in parallel.  Must be eager to take ownership of work, have real business impact, overcome obstacles and take it through to completion, working as part of this team and collaborating with a much bigger community of developers sharing the technology and code base.
