Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The objective of GTI is to balance both business alignment and the centralized delivery of core products and services. GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm.
 
This role must interface closely with GTI and LOB Operate Team Leads, Application Development/Performance Engineers/Database/Security/Storage/Networking Leads, Unix and Windows technologists.
 
The role encompasses the following key roles and responsibilities:
  • Engineering and Development pertaining to Windows Server Operations Management & automation using SCOM.
  • Solution documentation across the firm's Development, QA, and Production spaces
  • Contribution to the development and support of general JPMC Windows server host patterns
  • Contribution to the development and support of the firms SCOM platform and all associated technologies
  • Contribution to the selection of technologies to support JPMC Service offerings
  • Testing, validation and certification of all Windows System management components in compliance with all operational, security and audit requirements
  • Contribution to the assessment of vendor roadmaps and alignment with internal roadmaps
  • Responsibility to mentor team members and help develop professionally and technically
  • Working with Lines of Business to identify and articulate business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Acting as a technical visionary both within the Monitoring space and extending outward into the firm.

  • Minimum 8-10+ years of hands-on experience on Windows Server Operating Systems engineering, including 3+ years of experience in complex, distributed environments.
  • Technical proficiency in managing an Operations Manager implementation and troubleshooting all aspects of Operations Manager effectively.
  • Experience in AD, Exchange, Lync, SQL, SSRS, IIS, and clustering highly desirable.
  • Scripting experience desirable (e.g. VB and PowerShell).
  • Experience in Microsoft Management technologies in the System Center product stack.
  • Ability to deliver patterns and solutions based on industry best practices and architectural requirements.
  • Ability to influence a cross functional team to obtain desired results.
  • Ability to initiate new efforts through requirements gathering and drive the engineering teams to completion.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Proven methodical approach to problem identification, problem solving and resolution
  • Results driven, ensuring short-term goals are achieved while supporting long-term initiatives with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Technical writing and documentation skills.
  • MCSE, and other relevant certifications or working experience highly desired.
  • Project Management experience highly desired.
