End User Services (EUS) - delivers measurable business value by providing core desktop technology solutions that meet business demand while realizing cost efficiencies. EUS works with our Line of Business partners to develop standardized, resilient operating environments and implement a global technology strategy for the firm's 200,000+ workstations and 40,000+ remote access users. We oversee important tasks, including: incident management, user management, security access and controls, work order management, media management, application and business data recovery.
Key Roles and responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance based on the research of current software and operating system service packs, patches, updates and fixes for the desktop / thin clients
  • Recommend, evaluate & document Operating System level standards and GPO requests
  • Make recommendations based upon the severity, critical need and implications to environment and supported applications
  • Investigate and propose new technologies and techniques for the process to improve customer efficiency, security and productivity
  • Ensure all new and proposed software is tested with existing desktop / thin client image prior to deployment
  • Participate in defining new standard for desktops / laptops and thin client, to meet the business need
  • Oversee the maintenance of the corporate desktop / thin client image as hardware changes occur ensuring no incompatibilities
  • Impact analysis on any platform level changes
  • Work with project managers on global projects with a focus on technical design, risk assessment, costs, timing and benefits
  • Work with business subject matter experts and key stakeholders to successfully integrate their solutions and objectives on to our platform
  • Provide desktop / thin client management automation through scripting to provide consistent and predictable services
  • Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions, and to prevent recurring problems
  • Understand project requirements and map it to technology deliverables
  • Perform product assessment & document the findings and communicate to appropriate teams
  • Ensure firms platform and application standards are followed
  • Provide technical solutions and coordination for exceptions and issues as they arise
  • Interface with different teams (i.e. Packaging, Release Management, Development and QA, etc.) and provide technical support to various teams
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Significant experience of operating systems standards (Windows 7 & 10, Server 2008 & 2012), GPO’s, Registry, Kernel level tweaks and similar platform technologies in a large-scale, complex, global environment
  • Active Directory knowledge
  • Expert knowledge of Network (i.e. TCP/IP, HTTP, SMB, DNS, etc.)
  • Scripting experience in one or more scripting languages (e.g. vbscript and PowerShell) and ideally bash
  • Good understanding of Microsoft MDT and/or other orchestration technologies
  • Good understanding of VMWare ESX infrastructure
  • Good knowledge of Linux / Unix
  • Good knowledge of SQL databases
  • Understanding of storage and virtual storage systems a plus
  • Citrix (XenDesktop and XenApp) infrastructure knowledge
  • Understanding of ITIL methodologies
  • Python, C, C++, VB.NET and/or C# development skills with some web services a plus
  • Self motivated, able to work to goals with minimum supervision
  • Flexible and adaptable to change, able to manage  constantly changing priorities
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Heavily client focused and excellent teamworker
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to actively listen and clearly communicate with other teams globally (including offshore). Able to clearly articulate to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
  • Experience managing a small technical operations team with proven Leadership skills
  • Experience of working in a large global corporate environment with strong risk disciplines
  • Experience of working in a large global organisation with knowledge of release management and culture strong change control

All internal moves will normally take place on the same grade and same salary. Salaries are reviewed annually in February. Exceptions to the rule regarding transfer on current salary may include a move between geographic locations.
