Business Overview

The J.P. Morgan Global Macro businesses are global leaders in providing a wide range of rates, currency and commodity product solutions to investor and issuer clients and consist of four product lines. Global Rates & Rates Exotics provides market making services in G10 fixed income government-issued securities and interest rate derivatives. Currencies & Emerging Markets is a major liquidity provider in global foreign exchange markets and emerging market fixed income and acts as a principal in its trading capacity and provides execution capabilities via voice or electronic means to its clients. FX Exotics & Hybrids trades products involving correlation and highly structured payout formulas with long tenors. Commodities offers clients over-the-counter ("OTC") derivatives, structuring, risk management and financing across most commodity asset classes on a global basis.   

Position description

This position will be part of the Markets Planning & Analysis team focused on supporting the Business Managers for the Global Macro businesses and specifically operating as the global lead supporting these businesses. The team has multiple clients and partners including front-office Business Heads, Business Managers, Product Controllers, External Reporting, Balance Sheet/RWA, other Markets Product and Sales & Marketing P&A and CIB Central team functions. The agenda is demanding, with peaks around month and quarter-end and intense engagement throughout the annual planning cycle. The incumbent will coordinate a global team of P&A team members in supporting the regional and product activities within these groups.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Lead financial analyses including forecasting and budgeting
    • Managing the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process
    • Analysis and forecasting of balance sheet resources such as RWA, GSIB, capital, etc.
    • Leading the CCAR submission for Trading Revenues
    • Driving relevant analysis to aid business heads/managers in strategic decision making
    • Assist in ad hoc business strategic projects
  • Business performance reporting and communication
    • Providing monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting on business performance
    • Coordination between desk heads, business managers and product controllers to analyze business performance drivers and provide commentary for performance reporting
    • Reviewing expenses and helping drive reductions in the business cost base
    • Developing materials for business communications
    • Implementing controls and best practices to ensure accurate financial reporting
    • Liaising with legal entity controllers to ensure financial statement integrity and regulatory compliance
    • Governance of the financial hierarchies
    • Ensuring reporting practices are consistent across the Macro and other Markets businesses
  • Coordination, leadership and development of a global team of on-shore and off-shore resources


The candidate must be a highly-motivated self-starter and able to shift focus of task with relative ease while remaining flexible in balancing workload in accordance with changing priorities.  The incumbent needs to be comfortable operating in a sometimes stressful and fast-paced environment.


Essential qualifications and skills

  • Minimum of 7 years of business and financial management experience
  • Excellent problem solving skills,  sharp analytical/quantitative skills, with an eye for detail but focused on the ‘big picture’
  • Strong relationship building with proven experience of collaborating with and influencing others across functions and product and locations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage the priorities, deliverables and professional development of a global team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable skills but not essential
  • Planning & Analysis/Business Management/Business Control/Legal Entity Controller experience
  • Quantitative educational background (Financee, Economics, Math, etc.)
  • Solid product knowledge of the key Macro businesses
  • Accounting qualification/experience
  • Knowledge of JPM reporting systems - Paragon, FDW, Cognos
