Organization & Team Overview:
The Financial Information Reporting Solutions (FIRS) provides accurate, complete and consistent data for aggregation and analysis by Internal Reporting and External Reporting consumers. FIRS also serves to partner with technology and various program management teams to drive the finance strategy of the firm’s overall finance and risk roadmap.
 
The Finance Reporting Infrastructure (FRI) is a legacy project under the Finance & Risk Roadmap. The FIRS team will help to define and deliver target state operating model and technology requirements to strategically source data required for both internal and external reporting. The team will also assist in positioning the firm to better respond to changing regulatory environments and internal demand requests by deploying change in a centralized model.
 
Position Overview:
This position is within the FRI Operational Strategy Team and will be focused on delivering production tools and processing activities in support of the Finance & Risk Roadmap. Through partnership with technology, finance operations, and the business architecture team; the focus will be on delivering new products, reports, and increased functionality to the strategic finance platform (FRI). Using natural synergies and partnerships with all lines of business the team will bring the next phase of finance reporting to fruition.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Working within a transverse project/production structure.
  • Lead Agile work stream in an autonomous structure while meeting program goals and deadlines.
  • Support the operations team through the continuous on-boarding of strategic deliverables.
  • Engaging with line of business, operations, and project partners to gather feedback/requirements.
  • Managing relations, communicating and presenting to various levels of stakeholders.
  • Solving for operational deficiencies by developing systemic or operational solutions.
  • Develop knowledge of the architecture and technical aspects of the infrastructure.
  • Escalating issues as needed to the appropriate team(s) and management.
  • Support the operations team through the continuous on-boarding of strategic deliverables.

This position requires strong interpersonal and partnership skills. Also, the ability to partner with Risk & Finance Technology, Project Teams and Line of Business Teams in order to execute on established deliverables is key. The candidate should be able to translate technical jargon into real world scenarios for articulation. The candidate will be required to work with a sense of urgency and be able to balance and prioritize numerous activities. Previous operations experience in reconciliation, data quality research, and data visualization experience is a plus.
Experience:
  • Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related discipline. 
  • 7 to10+ years relevant work experience.
  • Prior operations experience and people management required.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Proven track record of designing solutions and solving for scale.
  • Project Management exposure, specifically in the Agile methodology.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skill with the ability to present information at varying levels of detail depending on the audience.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure.
  • Strong work ethic and keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to develop, clearly present, and draw conclusions.
  • Aptitude and desire to learn quickly, be flexible, and think strategically.
  • Ability to handle numerous deliverables concurrently to deliver high quality results in committed timeframes while being able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Client business focused; able to work collaboratively and build strong partnerships with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Technical Skills:

  • Overall strong desktop skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • SQL/ other database, Tableau, Visio knowledge would be an advantage
  • Strong data analysis skills
