The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.

Americas  Finance & Business Management is seeking a Business Manager - Vice President based in New York supporting Client Intelligence (CI), part of Markets Execution covering Front Office and Technology. Markets Execution is an exciting new organisation set up to drive strategy and growth of JPMorgan’s external client-facing digital platforms across multiple channels – mobile, desktop, and web.


Client Intelligence (CI) is a team that supports the global Sales, Research, Marketing and Banking organization using CRM and MIS tools across the Investment Bank.  This involves leveraging a wide range of tools that will help Sales making decision efficiently, while collecting valuable client intelligence data points (trade, revenue, deal, profitability, clients, contacts, etc.).


The Business Manager – will lead and work closely with the CI Chief Business Technologist to formulate overall strategy across the various CI programs.  The Business Manager will integrate with Sales management, technology management and business management to have the ‘big picture’ and goals are aligned.  Additionally, they will operate in a chief-of-staff function for in many aspects.


Core Responsibilities

Lead efforts to create the Roadmap and deliver on CRM strategy to align core CRM functions and applications across CIB:

  • Partner with Sales Business and Technology to effectively deliver on the Roadmap
  • Assist with communication of key Sales Technology accomplishments and risks/issues to Global Business Heads as part of the quarterly governance review
  • Provide inputs to the global Sales Business Controls Forums and Committees, highlighting key Sales Technology risk/controls projects and production stability issues
  • Promote client intelligence toolsets across CIB and drive adoption
  • Become liaison between business users across CIB and technology teams beyond our organization
  • Represent technology in front of Sales staff; help Sales navigate through different technology units as needed
  • Represent business in front of technology teams; articulates business use cases on behalf of Sales staff, navigate through compliance, business management as needed
  • Manage the priorities, deliverables, and Sales buy-in and adoption including leading stakeholder management and communication
  • Analyze existing capabilities and identify priority gaps and opportunities
  • Prioritize needs and investments based upon Sales and relationship insight, competitive positioning and industry research

Candidates with a consulting background in financial services industry are preferred.  Ideally, candidates should have experience working with Sales organizations and knowledge of toolsets for Sales. The successful candidate should also possess the following attributes:

  • Ability to synthesize  information to formulate a “story” for Senior Management
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter who is creative with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Quick learner with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously and independently, while maintaining a high degree of communication and escalation at appropriate junctures
  • Team player comfortable working in a fast-paced consulting-style, unstructured environment
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical problem solving skills – as well as written and verbal communication
  • Professional maturity, personal integrity, and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to receive and act upon feedback
  • Experience working on a trading floor and interacting with sales & trading is preferred
  • High-level of proficiency in MS-Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio)
  • MBA a plus
