The role is Developer within JPMorgan's Investment Bank Technology – Core Processing area, specifically servicing the Accounting and Regulatory groups located in LATAM.

This role will be responsible for all aspects of systems specification, development, unit testing, and design, ensuring compatibility with enterprise and solutions architectures. Projects in the pipeline include new product onboarding, along with technical infrastructure renovations etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the development team delivering system changes in line with the architecture and design, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers
  • Follow appropriate design standards, methods and tools and ensure they are applied effectively
  • Develop a good understanding of the business processes and the associated underlying technical procedures
  • Work with Production support teams to ensure smooth transition of software developed
  • Understand the technical environment and look to continually promote increased knowledge in the team
  • The candidate will be expected to continually look at improving the processes and procedures in the development life cycle and challenge areas that they see inefficient

Professional/Technical/Business Skills Required for Candidates:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related area
  • 5 years in the industry preferably with Capital Markets background
  • Proficient in Sybase/Oracle and C++
  • Knowledge of financial instrument features and trade processing for Derivatives, Equities, fixed income, futures and options, and FX
  • Familiarity of Accounting and regulatory reporting and its implications to the business
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, comfortable with change, ability to operate in an intense environment
  • Ability to work to deadlines, results-oriented, flexible, adaptable
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and the ability to work on their own initiative while being a strong team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate accurately, concisely and with tact and diplomacy when appropriate
  • Be conscientious, reliable and inquisitive with a keen desire to learn, not just gain the knowledge necessary for the job but also the underlying reasons and drivers
