This role is within the Corporate Technology which is focused on building applications which support the daily needs of risk managers and financial professionals.
 
The Corporate Technology (CT) organization develops applications and provides technology support for corporate functions across JPMorgan Chase, including Global Finance, 
Corporate Treasury, Risk Management, Human Resources, Compliance, Legal, and all functions within the Corporate Administrative Office (CAO).

CT teams are aligned with corporate partners’ evolving technology needs and the firm’s ever expanding technology controls agenda.
 
A top CT priority is building scalable corporate systems. Teams focus on:

The team is responsible for providing the data backbone to the Finance organization storing all finance information and calculating aggregations and supporting internal management reporting and external regulatory reporting. The team leverages Java Open Source technologies to provide data management tools, calculators and financial reporting engines.  The team is looking for proactive and hands-on technologists who can lead the technical design, implementation and testing for monthly  development activities


 
Responsibilities of the role include:
 
  • Follow SDLC best practices such continuous integration, automated unit test and regression testing, etc and focus on end to end quality of the delivery.
  • Work collaboratively in a team with fellow developers, sharing ideas to solve complex and challenging business problems.
  • Partner with technology and business teams to understand the current reporting workflow, come up with innovative solutions for incremental value add to existing workflows and invest in strategic direction 
  • Be able to communicate effectively and work closely together with business clients, other technology teams, support partners and stakeholders to deliver and support business aligned solutions
  • Perform impact analysis for a change
  • Design and implement data models
  • Governs integration testing between upstream and downstream systems
  • Provide Technical oversight to maintain high code quality
    • Enforce code reviews
    • Ensure appropriate test coverage with proper coordination with other leads
    • Monitor code vulnerabilities and get it resolved
  • Ensure SOX compliance
    • Proper software change management execution
    • Proper test evidence capture
    • Security monitoring and enforcement
 

Qualifications
 

Basic Technical Qualifications
  • 8+ years experience in building out enterprise level applications
  • Must have strong hands-on development experience on the following:
    • Core Java 8
    • Spring 
    • JPA/Hibernate
  • Experience with web application and stand alone Java applications 
  • Exposing and consuming JSON based RESTful services using Spring
  • Experience with Scala a big plus
  • Experience working as part of Finance/Regulatory reporting team a big plus
  • Follower of unit testing using Spring and H2 DB
  • Focus on long term quality of the software - understanding extensibility and maintenance aspects
  • Strong understanding of relational databases
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies 
  • Experience in end to end release of highly reliable applications including design, development and testing
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Compute Science/Software Engineering (or related fields)
  • Experience working as part of Finance/Regulatory reporting team a big plus
