Syndicate Technology is a division within Banking Technology, supporting Capital Marketers, Syndicate and Sales across Fixed Income, Equity and Loans businesses globally.  Syndicate Technology’s priority is to provide best-in-class platforms to support trade execution in the Primary Markets.  The group is global, based in New York, London, Hong Kong, Houston, Mumbai and Bangalore.  
 
We are looking for an experienced Architect who will partner with Lead Developers, Analysts and group wide Architects to define, craft and validate existing and emerging enterprise solutions so that they fit a Capital Markets business that is #1 in the world.  The successful candidate will also keep astep of developing technologies, developing FinTech companies and the developing business models.
 
Overall Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of work experience in developing, enhancing and maintaining enterprise-class applications using Java/J2EE
  • Ability to problem-solve in complex environments
  • Innovates and is interested in new development techniques and technologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-starter who is able to multi-task on several deliverables
  • Experience with UI design and architecting the server side application to scale
 
Required Skills
  • Microservices oriented and development of APIs
  • Hands on experience in designing and developing large client facing applications.
  • Strong foundation in Object Oriented Programming and Design Principles (OOP / OOD)
  • Use of object-oriented techniques and software engineering best practices including design review, code review, unit-testing, and re-factoring
  • Understanding and implementation of test-driven development
  • Knowledge/experience of Java Frameworks and technologies, including Spring, Hibernate.
  • Solid experience working professionally with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, with a solid background in MVC programming and JavaScript patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of client-side libraries such as  AngularJS  & ReactJS
  • Experience in improving cross browser performance & security issues.
  • Strong understanding of Web architecture and technologies.
  • 5+ years Oracle 10g/11g based RDBMS development experience using stored procedures, SQL, PL/SQL.
  • Experience with REST API and JSON API.
  • Experience building reusable JavaScript components
  • Experience debugging and optimizing web apps
  • Knowledge of developing mobile based applications
  • Expertise with version control systems (e.g. Subversion, Git)
  • Understanding of security principles in software development
  • Familiar with Linux/Unix env, including working with shell, ssh and other command line tools
  • Solid understanding of development using SCRUM and Agile practices
Desired Skills
  • Exposure to UX, improving interaction and UI visual designs
  • Experience in developing database-driven RIA in Javascript is a plus
  • Experience with Node.js and Openfin is also a plus

  • Proven ability to work well in a fast paced and challenging technical environment, with ability to multitask whilst delivering high quality solutions
  • Ability to quickly understand issues and think through solutions
  • Highly motivated with an ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform data analysis and troubleshoot data integrity issues
  • Able to communicate effectively with other team members and business
